You conjure the indominable spirit of a mighty dragon to your aid. A dragon of challenge rating 10 or lower of your choice appears in an unoccupied space within range in a burst of its associated energy. When the dragon appears, all creatures within 15 feet of it must succeed a Dexterity saving throw, or take 4d8 damage of the dragon's associated energy type.
The dragon is friendly to you and your companions for the duration. Roll initiative for dragon, which has its own turns. It obeys any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to the dragon, it defends itself from hostile creatures but otherwise takes no actions.
If your concentration is broken, the dragon doesn't disappear. Instead, you lose control of the dragon, it becomes hostile and aggressive toward you and your companions, and will try to attack. An uncontrolled dragon can't be dismissed by you, and it disappears 8 hour after you summoned it.
When the spell ends, the dragon is returned to its previous location, and remembers that you forcefully summoned it, and will react accordingly.
When you cast this spell, you can speak the name of a specific dragon of challenge rating 10 or less (a pseudonym, title, or nickname doesn't work). If that dragon is alive, that dragon is what is summoned by the spell.
The GM has the dragon's statistics. Sample sample dragons can be found below.
