Arapey's Greater Familiar Steed

Arapey has created a spell to call forth the celestial spirit known as Gringolet, combining the abilities of a greater steed and a familiar. 

Appearing in an unoccupied space within range, he can take on one of the following forms: a griffon, a pegasus, a peryton, a dire wolf, a rhinoceros, or a saber-toothed tiger. No matter the form, Gringolet has an Intelligence of 6. 

Gringolet acts independently of Arapey, but obeys their commands (this does not stop him from making comments). 

While he is within 1 mile of Arapey, they can communicate telepathically. While mounted, Arapey can make any spell they cast that targets only them also target Gringolet. Additionally when casting a spell with a range of touch, Gringolet can deliver the spell as if he had cast the spell. He must be within 100 feet of Arapey, and he must use his reaction to deliver the spell when it's cast. If the spell requires an attack roll, Arapey's attack modifier is used for the roll.

Additionally, as an action, Arapey can see through Gringolet's eyes and hear what he hears until the start of their next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that Gringolet has. During this time, Arapey is deaf and blind with regard to their own senses.

Gringolet disappears temporarily when he drops to 0 hit points or when dismissed as an action. Casting this spell again re-summons him, with all his hit points restored and any conditions removed. 

As an action, Arapey can temporarily dismiss him. He disappears into a pocket dimension where he (unhappily) awaits a summons.

Whenever Gringolet disappears, he leaves behind any objects it was wearing or carrying.

This spell can only be cast by Arapey to summon Gringolet, as he will not heed anyone else's call. Being bonded to him in this way, Arapey cannot be bound to a familiar or steed. Attempting to dismiss Gringolet has not been attempted, and therefore it is possible the bond may be unbreakable.
