Water Tentacle 2.0

A tentacle of water whips the enemy, and then attempts to strangle the enemy to death. 

The target makes a Constitution saving throw, and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, and then 2 ongoing bludgeoning damage until the target makes the save. The target takes 2 damage on a success.

The damage die increases to 2d6 when a 1st level spell slot is used, and additional 1d6 for every spell level increase.
