You've decided that you no longer want to be bound by the tethers of a mortal existence and to become one with magic and Constella. The process to become a Lich is an exhaustive one and requires a great deal of time and effort, even the most skilled of arcanists can have a difficult time.
When you cast this spell, roll a d20. On a 1 the spell fails and your body and soul is torn asunder and you cease to exist leaving nothing remaining to find respite in the afterlife.
On any other result the spell is a success and you gain the following benefits:
- You no longer age or need to eat, drink, or sleep. You only need to rest for 4 hours to gain the benefits of a Long Rest. During this time you can do light, non-strenuous activities.
- As long as your Lich Phylactery isn't destroyed, if you are killed you regenerate fully formed again from it in 1d10 days.
- You gain the Undead creature type and the ability: Turn Resistance. You have advantage on abilities that turns undead.
- You gain the following Action: Paralyzing Touch. Melee Spell Attack: [Your spell attack modifier + proficiency bonus] to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (3d6) cold damage. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw, DC equal to your 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Constitution Modifier, or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
- You gain Resistance to Cold, Lightning, and Necrotic damage.
- You gain Immunity to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks.
- You gain Immunity to the Charmed, Exhausted, Frightened, Paralyzed, and Poisoned Conditions.
- You gain Truesight out to a range of 120 ft.
- Your alignment of Good or Neutral shifts to Evil. If you were already aligned to Evil nothing changes.
On a roll of a 18, 19, or 20, you can choose to keep your original alignment.
Once a month, you must feed your phylactery a soul of a humanoid, fey, fiend, or celestial who's alignment is different from yours. You must feed your phylactery an additional soul per month for every 10 levels of spells you cast. If you fail to feed your phylactery the requisite number of souls your form begins to wither and rot. After two months of failing to meet the cumulative requirement you deform into a Demilich, losing most sense of reason and personality until the phylactery is fed souls once more wherein restoring your Lich form.
