You form a 5ft wide ball of roiling plasma at a point you choose within range. When it is formed and whenever a creature enters its space for the first time each turn, the creature must make a constitution saving. The target takes 4d12 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful save.
When you cast the spell - and as a bonus action on each of your turns thereafter - lightning arcs from the ball to up to two creatures of your choice. A creature targeted in this way must make a dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 lightning damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful save. A creature can only be targeted by one arc on a turn. A creature can be targeted by only one arc.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, one additional bolt arcs from the ball to another target for each slot level above 5th.
