You choose a target within range that you can see that is size Large or smaller. Large chains appear out of thin air as if called from another place entirely. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a success the spell ends. On a failed save, the target is restrained and on its turn, the restrained creature can attempt to escape by making a strength or dexterity check (targets choice) against the caster's spell save. If the creature escapes from the chains, as a reaction, you can move the chains to a new target, that is within 5 feet, and must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be restrained.
On subsequent turns, as a bonus action, you can use the chains to lash out at the restrained target or another creature within 5 feet. Make a melee spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot above 2nd. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot above 2nd.
