Warren of the Ways

Riding upon the summoned creature needed to cast this spell, you step into the Warren of the Ways, a labyrinthine series of extra-planar tunnels, in the hopes of creating a shortcut on the material plane. When you cast this spell, you and as many allies as can be carried by your summoned creature(s) can step through a portal from the Material Plane, and into the home plane of the summoned creature(s). The plane is indistinct to your eyes, except as a series of semi-translucent tunnels through which you move. 

You must make a DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) check to find the correct path to your intended destination. On a success, you walk through the tunnels for 55 minutes, and end up at an open portal to your intended destination on the Material planes. On a failure, or if you lose concentration on the summoned creatures, that spell ends, or you move off the path, you become trapped within the maze indefinitely. Trapped creatures cannot regain hit points, and are destined to wander the tunnels until their physical body dies, and even beyond. If a creature dies in the Warren, its spirit continues its wanderings as a *ghost*, with the goal of possessing a living creature moving through the Warren, and hopefully escaping the maddening tunnels. 

A trapped creature can cast this spell again to give themselves another chance to attempt the Investigation check. Every failure after the first deals 4d6 psychic damage to all creatures travelling the Warren. 

While travelling through the Warrens, you have a 20% chance of encountering 1d4 ghosts. 

Once you move through the portal from the Material Plane into the Warren, the portal closes behind you. You do not need to be carried by your summoned creatures within the Warren.
