Cage of Lightning

You surround a creature in harmless miniature lightning bolts. This cage protects the creature from harm. When a creature makes a melee weapon attack against the caged creature, it makes a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a fail, the creature takes 2d8 lightning damage and wastes the attack. on a success, the attack is still wasted. When the caged creature is the target of a ranged attack, the attack is wasted and the ammunition destroyed.
