Choose one creature you can see within range. Ice like chains spring from the ground around the creature. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw, or be restrained by the chains. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns. Once a creature is freed from the chains, or the spell ends, the chains explode. Shards of ice scatter from the destroyed chains dealing 2d8 cold damage to all creatures in a 5-foot radius. If the chains are dispelled, or if you lose concentration on the spell, the spell ends and the chains disappear without doing additional damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
