You summon fey spirits that take the form of humanoids and appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. The fey can take the form of a specific humanoid you have seen that has no class levels or an average example of a humanoid species or race. Choose one or more humanoids that fit the following options:
- One humanoid of challenge rating 2 or lower
- Two humanoids of challenge rating 1 or lower
- Four humanoids of challenge rating 1/2 or lower
- Eight humanoids of challenge rating 1/4 or lower
Each humanoid is also considered fey, and it disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends. You can telepathically communicate with the summoned creatures (range 60ft).
The summoned creatures don't have a mind of their own and are immune to being charmed. Roll initiative for the summoned creatures as a group, which has its own turns. They obey any telepathic commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to them, they take no actions.
The GM has the creature's statistics, but the player determines the creature types.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using certain higher-level spell slots, you choose one of the summoning options above, and more creatures appear: twice as many with an 8th level spell slot and 3 times as many with a 9th level spell slot. You can additionally choose to summon 1 creature at a higher challenge rating: 1 humanoid of challenge rating 4 with an 8th level spell slot or 1 humanoid of challenge rating 7 with a 9th level spell slot.
