Damage/Effect

You shoot a coin that you have in your inventory at a blinding speed toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes an amount of damage according to what denomination of coin was used. You also gain a bonus or penalty to the attack roll depending on the denomination.

  • Copper Piece. A copper piece deals 1d4 piercing damage and has a +4 bonus to the attack roll.
  • Silver Piece. A silver piece deals 1d6 piercing damage and has a +2 bonus to the attack roll.
  • Electrum Piece. An electrum piece deals 1d8 piercing damage and has no bonus to the attack roll.
  • Gold Piece. A gold piece deals 1d10 piercing damage and has a -2 penalty to the attack roll.
  • Platinum Piece. A platinum piece deals 1d12 piercing damage and has a -4 penalty to the attack roll.

Whenever you miss, the coin fumbles and chooses a fate for you. On a miss, roll the coin’s damage die: On an odd roll, you take piercing damage equal to the number rolled. On an even roll, you gain temporary hit points equal to the number rolled.

You can toss more than one coin when you reach higher levels: up to two coins at 5th level, up to three coins at 11th level, and up to four coins at 17th level. Each coin can be of any denomination you choose, provided you have a coin of that value. You can direct the coins at the same target, or different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each coin.

* - (a coin of any denomination)
