You infuse the weapon used in the spell's casting with magical energy, and make a ranged attack against one creature within the weapon's range. The weapon attack made with the spell counts as magical. It has a normal range equal to the weapon's long range, and no long range. You use your spellcasting ability modifier instead of Strength or Dexterity for the attack and damage roll, and if the attack hits, the target takes an extra force damage equal to your spellcasting ability modifier. Immediately after the weapon hits or misses, it loses its magic.
This spell's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach the 5th level (1d8), 11th level (2d8), and 17th level (3d8). When you reach 11th level, the range of the weapon used in the casting increases by 30 ft.
