A surging divide of acid appears on a surface you can see within range, which can be either liquid or solid. The wall can be up to 60 feet long, 20 feet high, and 1 foot thick; alternatively you can make a ringed wall with a 20 foot diameter, 20 foot height, and a thickness of 1 foot.
When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 8d4 acid damage, or half as much damage on a successful save. Creatures that fail the save are coated in acid and suffer an additional 4d4 acid damage at the start of their next turn.
Creatures passing through the wall for the first time on a turn, or ending their turn in the wall, must make a Dexterity saving throw, or suffer the above effects as well.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 6th. This damage applies to both instances of damage.
