You convert raw materials into products of the same material. For example, you can fabricate a wooden bridge from a clump of trees, a rope from a patch of hemp, and clothes from flax or wool.
Choose raw materials that you can see within range. You can fabricate a Large or smaller object (contained within a 10-foot cube, or eight connected 5-foot cubes), given a sufficient quantity of raw material. If you are working with metal, stone, or another mineral substance, however, the fabricated object can be no larger than Medium (contained within a single 5-foot cube). The quality of objects made by the spell is commensurate with the quality of the raw materials.
Creatures or magic items can’t be created or transmuted by this spell. You also can’t use it to create items that ordinarily require a high degree of craftsmanship, such as jewelry, weapons, glass, or armor, unless you have proficiency with the type of artisan’s tools used to craft such objects.
Like you said it specified that it needs to be "Raw Material" for the spell to work. So again DM discretion on how you classify "Raw Material".
scary thought with forgers tools you could theoretically with dm approval create a government shaking scandal
Everyone is looking at this spell wrong. Instead of Asking what you can make What you SHOULD be asking is what can you Use to Make it out of.
Any Material you can see within range. The Size only comes into play when making the Object.
Enemy Is hold up inside a Castle or Stronghold? Cast this spell and watch the building(or at least a large part of it) Collapse into the Ground! Then you have a Very lovely Paperweight!
If I were to make knives, and had the proficiency, and material to make 100 knives: Would I be able to fabricate all 100 at once (since 100 knives can easily fit in a 10x10x10 cube), or do I have to cast it once for each knife?
Forgive me if this has already been asked, but does anyone think it would be possible to cheat this spell by using an All-Purpose Tool?
Whatever tool the All-Purpose Tool makes you are proficient with it. Technically this would allow you to get around the need to have proficiency with a given set of tools for you to make things with fabricate. Now you can use it to make anything, given the material. I think at least… been wrong before :)
Also yes I think “Right Tool for The Job” and Elandrin Trance are “Trace” are good ways to get around that issue as well. Just a bit slower than All-Purpose Tool.
Why does the College of Creation Bard not get this? Someone really overlooked this!
I would say the pig could even be Alive considering you can make trees into a bridge without killing them. Trees feel like a way more complicated life form than a pig.
I feel the spell literally puts in a clause for having skilled tools and allowing for an item to be made. Why make getting a axe so difficult? If someone can make a whole 40ft bridge in 10mins I think I'm fine with a axe.
So theoretically, because corpses are classified as items, can you fabricate two or more bodies together and then revive the bodies to make a zombie centipede?
