You summon a spirit that assumes the form of an unusually intelligent, strong, and loyal steed, creating a long-lasting bond with it. Appearing in an unoccupied space within range, the steed takes on a form that you choose: a warhorse, a pony, a camel, an elk, or a mastiff. (Your GM might allow other animals to be summoned as steeds.) The steed has the statistics of the chosen form, though it is a celestial, fey, or fiend (your choice) instead of its normal type. Additionally, if your steed has an Intelligence of 5 or less, its Intelligence becomes 6, and it gains the ability to understand one language of your choice that you speak.
Your steed serves you as a mount, both in combat and out, and you have an instinctive bond with it that allows you to fight as a seamless unit. While mounted on your steed, you can make any spell you cast that targets only you also target your steed.
When the steed drops to 0 hit points, it disappears, leaving behind no physical form. You can also dismiss your steed at any time as an action, causing it to disappear. In either case, casting this spell again summons the same steed, restored to its hit point maximum.
While your steed is within 1 mile of you, you can communicate with each other telepathically.
You can't have more than one steed bonded by this spell at a time. As an action, you can release the steed from its bond at any time, causing it to disappear.
I summoned a celestial unicorn named Blorbo.
Best spell.
A warhorse with an Intelligence of 6. That's pretty much Disney animal sidekick level of Intelligence. Not bad.
My DM is allowing me to make my summoned steed a sidekick, so that it levels with me, which I think is WAY cool! I've read the rules in Tasha's about sidekicks, but here's my problem. We're doing a campaign using Discord™ and I need a character sheet for that application. D&D Beyond doesn't seem to support making a character sheet for a sidekick that's a creature (elk in my case) unless I'm missing something (likely). Any ideas?
Paladinos só conseguem usar magias level 2 no level 5 da classe
Wait but what about find greater steed. Would you personally allow the spirit to remain the same and be upgraded or forced to sever the bond and trade the warhorse for a Griffin.
Step 1: Be on your steed
Step 2: Cast a Smite spell, like Thunderous Smite.
Step 3: Since it normally only targets you, it also targets the steed.
Step 4: Two smites for the price of one.
Does anyone know what the best option for a paladin to use from this spell? Also, #Open dnd
I want a giant mountain goat for my Dwarf Cavalier. That is a fighter class. So, How do I make this happen. I really don't want to play a paladin.
-Multiclass into a Paladin
-Ask a Paladin to cast Find Steed into a ring of spell storing
-Ask your DM to homebrew a magic item that let's you cast Find Steed
I agree that Find Steed should be part of the Cavalier subclass features though. Find Greater Steed can be the Paladin iconic spell flying around on Griffons and Pegasi, but Cavaliers need the base horse more than a Paladin does.
eg:
Born to the Saddle
Starting at 3rd level, your mastery as a rider becomes apparent. You have advantage on saving throws made to avoid falling off your mount. If you fall off your mount and descend no more than 10 feet, you can land on your feet if you’re not incapacitated.
Mounting or dismounting a creature costs you only 5 feet of movement, rather than half your speed.
Finally, at 5th level you can cast the Find Steed spell a number of times per day equal to your proficiency modifier. You regain all uses after a long rest.
Do I get to know the stat block of my Steed?
Yeah, dismounting after a long term spell is applied to your steed does not end the spell. And spirit guardians would be a spell that would be passed to your steed.
Side note; aura of vitality is another great option for your crown paladin if your party is short on heals.
A paladin casts Find Steed into a ring of Spell Storing.
Another character then casts the Find Steed spell from the ring. The ring definition says that the spell uses the casting level, save DC etc of the original caster, but "...is otherwise treated as if you [the ring wearer] cast the spell."
So, which of these outcomes makes sense
A. The spell summons the Paladin's Steed. (Assuming it isn't already present)
B. The ring summons the Paladin's Steed, or a copy of it if its already present.
C. The ring summons a new steed for the ring bearer.
Well it makes sense, but any level 6 college of lore Bard still maintains access to this spell or one level later Find Greater Steed.
Important note would be that all this would do is expand the area affected by Spirit Guardians. Not only do duplicate spell effects not stack, its even the same INSTANCE of the spell, so anybody hoping to get 6d8 on a creature every round with one 3rd level spell is going to be sorely disappointed.
Your DM is your DM but I would not allow such a powerful mount summoned by a lvl 2 spell. That's why they made a "Summon Greater Steed" spell.
In a situation where summoner and steed are inadvertently separated on different planes or dimensions. Given that the steed is a celestial (as example) which has the power to return to its own plane, would it perhaps also have the power to go to the plane where its summoner exists and re-take its warhorse (or whatever) shape?
If not, then would it wait patiently back on the PM plane or would it "exit stage left" and go back to its own plane?
