You and up to ten willing creatures you can see within range assume a gaseous form for the duration, appearing as wisps of cloud. While in this cloud form, a creature has a flying speed of 300 feet and has resistance to damage from nonmagical weapons. The only actions a creature can take in this form are the Dash action or to revert to its normal form. Reverting takes 1 minute, during which time a creature is incapacitated and can't move. Until the spell ends, a creature can revert to cloud form, which also requires the 1-minute transformation.
If a creature is in cloud form and flying when the effect ends, the creature descends 60 feet per round for 1 minute until it lands, which it does safely. If it can't land after 1 minute, the creature falls the remaining distance.

Say you have been out riding two days and want to get back in a hurry to where you started from. It says willing creatures. Could it be cast on the horse that you had been riding? Would the horse be able to navigate back to its home stable? Could a horse have the Intelligence to take an action to revert to its normal form, or would it have to wait out the spell duration?
68.18 miles per hour for 8 hours. Let's you travel 545.44 miles.
What exactly can you do while using this spell? Instructions say that the only action you can take is Dash, so does that exclude every other possible action? At all times? I ask because my players want to search for clues, scout ahead, and use abilities, while in cloud form. My inclination is to say that while in cloud form, all you can do is Dash and see what is normally perceptible, no search, action, or help action, or anything else… But they make a good point that they can just look around, can’t they? Also, can they talk to each other?
