Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who walk the path of blood are no strangers' to pain, in fact, they revel in it. their bodies so heavily scarred, with rage all-consuming they barely feel the sting of metal as it rips through their flesh. Monsters on the battlefield their paths name derives from the fact that a barbarian who follows it can commonly be seen covered head to toe in their own blood.
A Barbarian who follows the path of blood is your parties designated tank, with armor class increases, damage reduction, damage nullification, and straight-up immortality you'll seem to find yourself teetering on the edge of death more often than not. With all this tank though comes some pretty nasty downsides, abilities like "Desperate Attack" which allow you to let an enemy hit you without rolling in order to make an attack of opportunity on their turn, to automatically failing death saves while an ability called undying rage is active allowing you to fight past 0 hit points. So if being an unkillable frontliner sounds like your thing then you should be walking the path of blood.
Increasing fury
3rd level
your rage on the battlefield seems to numb your body. Starting at half health You gain 1 ac and another for every 10 hit points after, while enraged, this effect can stack up to your half barbarian level. if you are to lose rage or leave it as a bonus action you lose any bonus AC provided by increasing furry.
Scent of blood
3rd level
you revel in the carnage of battle. Reduce any damage taken that is not slashing, bludgeoning, or piercing damage by half your Barbarian level. (at 10th level add half your con modifier, and at 18th level add your full con modifier)
Battle scars
6th level
your body has become so scared from battles that it has created a natural layer of protection. You gain a permanent +2 to your AC.
Unbridled rage
10th level
your rage has become all-consuming. As long as you attack or are attacked at least once before the end of each round whether you take damage or not your rage will never end subsequently you can no longer cancel your rage as a bonus action.
Desperate attack
10th level
You’ve learned that pain is a part of the battle and as such have come to use it to your advantage, even enjoy it in battle. As a Reaction, you can ALLOW an enemy to hit you that is targeting you for an attack and within melee range, if you do, you gain an attack of opportunity at advantage on that enemy. You can not benefit from scent of blood when using this ability also you can not use reckless attack the same at the same time you use desperate attack. (DM may still roll to see if the attack is a crit otherwise, the attack simply hits the player and can not be stopped using any method.)
Adrenaline rush
14th level
The adrenaline coursing through your body while enraged is causing you not to feel pain. Once per long rest you can entirely ignore a single attack. You must choose to use this ability after hit confirmation but before damage is rolled. (This becomes twice per long rest at 18th level)
Undying rage
14th level
you've become so used to being near death that it doesn't even phase you anymore. While enraged you simply can not die nor can you become knocked unconscious.
While at 0 health you still take damage like normal.
Upon leaving rage you stay conscious but are left with only 1 hp as long as your health was above -10 and you must rest for 8+1d4 hours before being able to use this ability again.
If your hit points are below -10 upon leaving rage you immediately fall unconscious, if this happens you must rest for 10+1d12 hours before you can use this ability again.
Instead of rolling for death saves, upon reaching -20, -30, and -40 health each, you automatically fail a death save upon leaving rage.
If you fail all death saves this way you can still be revived with the use of magic however you must rest for 10+2d12 hours before being able to use this ability again. (any amount of time you do not rage counts as a rest for this ability upon raging before the rest is over you must restart the rest)
