Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Super Saiyan know of the monkey races’ follies, unkempt rage only leads to war and ruin. However, they have discovered that there is something to gain from their strength. They have mastered their emotions and can empower themselves with their feelings.
Super Saiyan
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can empower yourself using your own emotions. If you expend a ki point, you can transform spiritually into a Super Saiyan, a powerful being with spiked up golden hair, emerald green eyes, and flowing yellow energy. The Super Saiyan transformation only lasts for 5 minutes. When you transform you benefit from the following effects:
- You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- You have a +2 to Strength checks, Strength saving throws, and attack rolls.
- You have a +2 to AC and resistance to bludgeoning damage.
- Your movement speed increases by 10 ft.
There are a few drawbacks to this form. Since it relies so much on emotion, you could have some trouble controlling yourself if your emotions aren’t in order before transforming. The DM can have it where you can accidentally go into somewhat of a berserk state if your character isn’t in the best headstate.
You can easily end your Super Saiyan state as a bonus action. As said before, the form is very reliant on emotion and the slightest push can go critical. If the DM wills it, they can have you roll a d4 to dictate where your mood shall sway.

A Grade Above
At 6th level, you’re well on your way to mastering Super Saiyan. So much so that now, when you go regular Super Saiyan, you no longer suffer from mood swings when you exit the form and don’t have to have perfect emotions to control the form. You can also stay in the form much longer now, about 10 minutes. If you expend 2 ki points, you can turn into a Super Saiyan 2, an empowered Super Saiyan with even wilder and spikier hair. It’s so wild that electricity appears around the form periodically, not adding any damage. The Super Saiyan 2 transformation lasts 10 minutes. When you transform into a Super Saiyan 2 you benefit from the following effects:
- You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- You have a +4 to all Strength checks, Strength saving throws, and damage rolls.
- You have a +4 to AC and resistance to bludgeoning damage.
- Your movement speed increases by 20 ft.
Super Saiyan 2 is an overwhelming transformation. So overwhelming that the sheer power often clouds the judgement of those in the form. At the end of each of your turns you must roll a charisma saving throw of 10. Every time you succeed the throw it goes up by 5 at the end of your next turn. If you fail the saving throw then you become overconfident in your abilities, sometimes even letting the opponent hit you. When you fail, the dc of the saving throw goes back to 10. While you’re overconfident, your AC lowers by 10 and stays like that until you’re able to succeed on the charisma saving throw.
Even Further Beyond
By 11th level you’ve mastered Super Saiyan 2 and have negated the overconfidence of the form, now only taking a single ki point to transform into. Through the perfection of Super Saiyan 1 and 2, you’ve unlocked a new fierce power; Super Saiyan 3.
Super Saiyan 3 looks very different to the previous form, sporting much, much longer hair and no eyebrows. Of all the transformations, it’s the most off putting and intimidating. However, the form is so strong that ki leaks out of the form uncontrollably, making it’s transformation length a mere 3 minutes. It also takes 4 ki points to transform into Super Saiyan 3. When you transform into a Super Saiyan 3 you benefit from the following effects:
- You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength.
- You have a +7 to all Strength checks, Strength saving throws, and damage rolls.
- You have a +7 to AC and resistance to bludgeoning damage.
- You have a +7 to intimidation checks.
- Your movement speed increases by 30 ft.
As said before, the biggest flaw in the form is that it only lasts 3 minutes. There’s so much power in the form that all the ki required to maintain the transformation leaks out in mounds. Another big flaw is that the form is exhausting, trying to use the form more than once per day will result in a level of exhaustion. The more you use the form, the more exhaustion levels you’ll get. On top of that, you’ll get disadvantage in your regular Super Saiyan forms and have a -2 to your attacks in Super Saiyan.
Crimson God
Finally, at level 17, you’re at the pinnacle of Super Saiyan. All previous forms take a single ki point to transform into and have all the negatives ironed out. You can even stay in Super Saiyan 3 for 10 minutes without any drawbacks! However, all of those forms pale in comparison to the end point of the monk interpretation of the Super Saiyan transformation; Saiyan. God.
Saiyan God is a Super Saiyan transformation imbued with the energy of the gods. Unlike the other transformations, Saiyan God is a calm power. Your hair turns a red-magenta and doesn’t even spike up. Your eyes turn red and you appear less bulky in muscle mass. Saiyan God takes a whopping 6 ki points to transform into and lasts for 10 minutes as usual. When transformed into a Saiyan God you benefit from the following effects:
- You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength.
- You have a +10 to all Strength checks, Strength saving throws, and damage rolls.
- You have a +10 to AC and resistance to bludgeoning damage.
- You have a +10 to perception checks
- Your movement speed increases by 40 ft.
There aren’t any drawbacks to Super Saiyan God, it wouldn’t make sense for a godly calm power to have negatives to it. The only thing of note is that your attitude is very calm and sedated in this form, very much acting like a depressant without health related side effects.
