Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of theSpectre are as mysterious and elusive as their name suggests. Their frequent meditation on the spirit allow them to manipulate their connection to their body and pass partially into the ethereal plane or the shadowfell. Spectre monks often inspire tales of hauntings, poltergeists, and other ghostly sightings. Most join the path after a close brush with death and they seek pilgrimage to other worlds closer to the afterlife, all while contemplating any "unfinished business" they may have had before their enlightenment. Truly, no one better understands the nature of the soul like a member of the Way of the Spectre.

Blade of the Void

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can spend 2 ki points to weave together threads of shadow to create a sword of solidified gloom in your hand as a Bonus Action. This magic sword lasts for 1 minute. It counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. It deals psychic damage equal to 2 martial arts die on a hit and has the finesse, light, and thrown properties (range 20/60). In addition, when you use the sword to attack a target that is in dim light or darkness, you make the attack roll with advantage.

If you drop the weapon or throw it, it dissipates at the end of the turn. The sword reappears in your hand whenever you make an attack.

Haunting Jump

At 6th level, you gain the ability to jump through the ethereal plane, teleporting a short distance. You may spend a ki point to cast Misty step.

Fade Away

By 11th level, you have learned to sever your connection to the physical world. You may spend 4 ki points to cast Greater Invisibility on yourself.

Posession

At 17th level, you can weave your spirit into the body of another creature. You may use an action to spend 10 ki points to force a creature you can see within 5 ft. of you to make a Wisdom saving throw or be possessed by you. You then disappear, and the target is Incapacitated and loses control of its body. You now control the body, and you can't be targeted by any Attack, spell, or other Effect. You use the possessed target's Statistics, but don't gain access to the target's knowledge, Class Features, or Proficiencies. The possession lasts until 8 hours pass, the body drops to 0 Hit Points, or you end it as a Bonus Action. When the possession ends, you reappear in an unoccupied space within 5 ft. of the body. The target is immune to your Possession for 24 hours after succeeding the saving throw, or after the possession ends.
