Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Wizard of the school of alchemy use potions rather than spells in combat. Alchemists cast their spells in advance by creating potions that allow them to alter their spells' range and component requirements. Often looked down upon by other wizards due to the preparation required for them to act, these "underdogs" view being underestimated as simply another advantage. With proper insight, preparation and ingenuity trump raw power. Those who treat an alchemist as any other wizard are destined for defeat.

Potion Master

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you can no longer cast spells normally in combat. Instead, you cast all your prepared spells during your long rests by creating potions. You must have a free hand to use these potions during combat, but they require no other verbal, somatic, or material components when used in combat. Any spells that have a material cost or consume materials still do so when the potions are prepared. All previously created potions are rendered inert during a long rest. The range for all spells cast as potions is 20 feet / 60 feet. Spells with multiple targets (other than area of effect) are stored in multiple vials, each with the aforementioned range.

Steroid Brewmaster

Starting at 6th level, you can brew potions that provide a temporary boost to your stats. Once per long rest, you can use a reaction to set any of your abilities (i.e., STR, DEX, CON, WIS, INT, or CHA) to 16 for 18 seconds. At levels 8, 12, and 16, this effect lasts for 30 seconds, 1 minute, and 1 hour, respectively. At levels 10, 14, 18, and 20, your ability increases to 18, 20, and 22, respectively.

Liquid Knowledge

Beginning at 10th level, you can directly convert knowledge into a potion, allowing you temporarily gain proficiency in a skill. Once per short rest, you can use a reaction to give yourself proficiency in a skill of your choosing. You must use this ability before rolling for a skill check. At level 13, this increases to twice per short rest. At level 15, you can instead give yourself expertise in a skill which you are already proficient.

Reverse Engineer

Starting at 14th level, you can recreate potions that you have analyzed. You can spend 4 hours analyzing a potion to understand its composition. Any analyzed potions can be recreated directly from materials (costing approximately half the potion's normal cost). You may make a number of potions equal to your proficiency modifier during a long rest.
