Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of Transcendence seek to understand the balance of dark and light, of evil and good, and by eschewing both, break the constraints of morality and ascend to a higher state of being. The Way of Transcendence is a homebrew option available to a monk at 3rd level when they gain the Monastic Tradition feature.

Orb of Destruction

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can hurl destructive orbs of magical energy. You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Wisdom modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage type is necrotic or radiant, chosen when you make the attack, and its damage die is a d4.

This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 Ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Discord

At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your Ki into your attacks. Immediately after you successfully hit a foe with an Orb of Destruction, you can spend 2 Ki points to inflict Discord upon your opponent. While under the effects of Discord, the target’s pain is amplified each time it takes damage from your allies’ attacks. When an ally successfully damages a foe who is under the effects of Discord, that ally adds your Martial Arts damage die to the damage they deal to that foe.

Discord lasts until the beginning of your next turn. You can spend additional Ki points to increase the duration of the effect. Each additional Ki point you spend increases the duration of the effect by 1 round. The maximum number of Ki points (2 plus any additional points) that you can spend on this ability equals half your monk level (rounded down).

Harmony

Additionally, at 6th level, you gain the ability to manipulate your orbs into spheres of healing energy. As an action on your turn, you can spend 2 Ki points to imbue one ally of your choice within 30 feet with Harmony.

While your ally is under the effects of Harmony, at the beginning of their turn, they heal a number of hit points equal to your Martial Arts damage die plus your Wisdom modifier. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.

Harmony lasts until the beginning of your next turn. You can spend additional Ki points to increase the potency of the effect. Each additional Ki point you spend increases the amount of healing by one Martial Arts die.

The maximum number of Ki points (2 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the ability equals half your monk level (round down).

Enlightenment

At 11th level, the range and effectiveness of your abilities increases. The range of your Orb of Destruction and Harmony abilities increase to 60 feet. Additionally, whenever you make a Wisdom (Insight) check, you gain advantage on the check.

Transcendence

At 17th level, you become wreathed in a luminous aura. You shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. You can extinguish or restore the light as a bonus action. Creatures within this light do not gain any benefits from Stealth and Invisible creatures glow with a soft radiance, revealing their position.

Additionally, as an action on your turn, you can spend 10 Ki points to grant all allies within 30 feet immunity to all damage until the beginning of your next turn.
