Base Class: Fighter
The archetypal Battle Dancer excels in precise, unarmored combat; they prefer to deftly weave their way through the battlefield as easily as they dance through a ballroom. An Elven noble pirouetting, as at home on the battlefield as at court. A Harengon far traveler trained in a foreign, traditional dance stands, ready to strike or dodge at a moment's notice. A Tiefling acrobat mid-backflip, avoiding what was sure to be a killing blow. A Battle Dancer aims to embody the beauty, grace, and elegance of dance on the battlefield, using continuous movement to dodge incoming attacks while delivering precise strikes of their own.
A fighter must have proficiency in the Acrobatics skill in order to follow this Martial Archetype.
Elegant Critical
Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your weapon attacks with finesse weapons score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Showman's Grace
Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, while you are wearing no armour and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.
You also gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you did not already have it.
Graceful Defence
Starting at 7th level, as a reaction, you can attempt to avoid an incoming attack, perhaps spinning out of the way with your weapon raised in defence. Roll 1d6 and add the number to your armour class. You may do this after the initial attack roll has been made, but before the damage has been calculated. Upon successfully avoiding the attack, you may maintain this bonus to your armour class until the end of the current turn as you have adjusted to the attacker's combat rhythm. If you do not avoid the initial attack, you cannot maintain this bonus to armour class as you've failed to accurately adjust to your attacker.
Starting at the 9th level, if you successfully avoid the initial attack, you may make a single melee or thrown weapon attack against the attacker within your melee or thrown weapon range as you dance out of the way.
Graceful Quickstep
At 10th level, you learn to put together your skills from the battlefield and the ballroom, increasing your speed, skill, and charm. As a result, your movement speed increases by 10 feet while unarmored, whenever you make a Charisma (Performance) check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of +1), and whenever you make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of +1).
Superior Elegance
Starting at 15th level, your precision on the battlefield increases, your weapon attacks with finesse weapons score a critical hit on a roll of 18–20.
Pinnacle of Grace
Starting at 18th level, your combat dance prowess reaches new heights and you respond to danger with extraordinary speed and grace. In combat, you get a special reaction that you can take once on every creature’s turn, except your turn. You can use this special reaction only to make an opportunity attack or use your Graceful Defence feature. You can not use this special reaction on the same turn you use your normal reaction.
In addition, while not wearing any armour or shields, you gain an additional 10 feet of movement.
