The seaborn children of the Ordo Nautica - the marine-based merchant company commonly referred to as the Nauts - are the subject of much speculation throughout the Southron Shield Alliance. The strangeness of their births aboard Naut ships and the ancient contracts that commit them to the guild have led to an endless supply of madcap barroom stories and ridiculous tall tales; claims that they can control the weather or summon the specters of the drowned up from the waters below.

The truth is that the seaborn themselves possess no innate magic - they're just regular children who grow up aboard their ships, not that most of them do anything to dissuade the rumors and stories.

The Nauts, on the other hand, are a different story.

Using ancient artifacts from a time before the Calamity, select members of the company are imbued with the ability to manipulate mist and fog, to move easily and see clearly where others are left blind and stumbling.

Mistweaver

You may cast the fog cloud spell a number of times per day equal to your Charisma Modifier, after which, you must complete a long rest before using this ability again.

Mistsense

At 3rd level you have grown comfortable within the mists; you may use a bonus action to attempt a DC 15 Perception check - on a success, you can sense the location of each creature within 30 ft of you.

Mistblade

Starting at 7th level, you gain access to a magical blade of hardened mist while you are within the fog; it has all the properties of a longsword except that it deals an additional 1d8 slashing damage and leaves no physical wound on the body.

While using your mistblade, you have access to the following actions and access to a number of skill uses equal to your Charisma modifier:

Voidslash: You may expend one of your Skill Uses in order to ignore all armor (including natural armor) and cover for this attack.

Aetherstrike:  You may expend one of your skill uses in order to force your target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC15), suffering the same amount of damage as bleed damage again at the beginning of their next turn. This damage may not be reduced.

Body of Mist

At 10th level, you gain the ability to cast the gaseous form spell, with yourself as the target, a number of times per day equal to your Charisma modifier, after which you must complete a long rest before you can use this ability again. Your movement speed is not reduced to 10 ft in your Body of Mist form while you are within a fog cloud spell.

Toxic Fog

Beginning at 18th level, you gain the ability to spread poison through your mists while you remain immune. Twice per day you can infuse your fog with the effects of a cloudkill spell. You are not effected by its poison. It functions as a fog cloud for the sake of your abilities.
