Base Class: Monk
Githzerai monks in Morsa have created a strange new art, combining their ki with the fury of storms. This art is very efficient at taking apart their well armored enemies and constructs of war. The Way of Roaring Thunder monks are generally more proud and boastful than practitioners of other arts, having remained undefeated ever since the creation of this art in limbo. Masters of this art can use their power to create storms and 'become lightning'.
Fists of the Storm
Starting at 3rd level when you hit a creature or object with an unarmed attack, you may have it deal thunder or lightning damage rather than its normal damage
Lightning Flurry
Starting at 3rd level your flurry of blows attacks have advantage on targets made of or wearing metal. Additionally creatures hit by your flurry of blows cannot take reactions until the start of their next turn
Martial Training
At 3rd level when you choose this archetype, you gain proficiency with three one-handed weapons of your choice. These weapons count as monk weapons for you.
Shattering Blow
At 6th level once per turn when you strike a creature or object made of inorganic material or a creature stunned by your stunning strike with an unarmed attack or monk weapon, you may deal an additional martial arts die of damage to that creature or object
Magnetic Grasp
At 6th level you can alter your ki to create a magnetic effect.
As an action you may choose a creature wearing or made of metal, or holding a metal object within 60 feet of you and spend 1 ki point. That creature must make a strength saving throw or be pulled up to 30 feet towards you or drop the object it is holding.
You can also use this ability on a loose metal object that is medium or smaller, and pull it 30 feet towards you or into an open hand if it reaches you.
If this ability brings a creature to within 5 feet of you, you may make an unarmed strike or flurry of blows against them as a bonus action
Arcing Strike
At 11th level, when you hit a creature with an unarmed attack or monk weapon attack, you may spend 5 ki points. When you do, the creature you hit and up to 3 other creatures within 30 feet make a Dexterity saving throw. Creatures take 6d8 lightning damage on a failed saving throw or half as much on a successful saving throw
Body of Lightning
At 17th level, you can create storms from your own life force. You can take 1 minute to summon a storm around you. This storm takes the form of a torrential downpour with strong winds and lightning. The storm lasts 1 hour or until you are incapacitated at which point it disperses over the course of 1 minute.
This storm has the following effects
- Creatures within the storm are deafened
- Unprotected flames are extinguished
- Vapor, gas, and fog that can be dispersed by a strong wind is hedged out
- Attack rolls of ranged weapons have disadvantage
- You are immune to thunder and lightning damage
You can spend 1 ki point to when you attack while in this storm. You can make a melee attack against any creature within the storm that you can see. When you do, you teleport to the creature in a burst of lightning. If the attack hits, it does an additional two martial dice of lightning damage.
You can use this ability again when you finish a long rest.
