Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Resolute Soul Sorcerers are sorcerers whose magical abilities activate through their resolve and determination to see their goals through to the end.  Resolute Soul Sorcerers often awaken their magic through instinct during a pivotal moment in their lives. Perhaps you conjured a spectral shield to protect yourself from a killing blow, or created a burst of thunder in a fit of rage to take revenge on those who wronged you. In either case, Resolute Soul Sorcerers discover their powers during intense moments of pure courage, instinct, rage, or any other powerful emotion. These sorcerers see their abilities as an additional instinct, wells of power flowing within them and waiting to be used when the time is right.

Bonus Proficiencies

You gain proficiency with light and medium armor, and simple and martial weapons.

Decisive Instinct

You can use your drive to overcome challenges to temporarily push yourself beyond your limits. When you or a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see is attacked or forced to make a saving throw, you can use your reaction to cast a spell that has a casting time of one action and is of a spell level no higher than one third of your sorcerer level (rounded down). The spell is cast immediately before the attack or saving throw takes place.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.

Unwavering Action

You have an uncanny knack for succeeding when you need to. As a bonus action on your turn, you can choose to spend any number of sorcery points equal to no more than your proficiency bonus. The next attack roll you make gains an additional modifier equal to twice the number of sorcery points you spent, and scores a critical hit on a 19 or a 20.

Alternatively, as a reaction when a creature makes an attack roll against you, you can spend any number of sorcery points equal to no more than your proficiency bonus and gain and add twice the number of sorcery points spent to your AC until the start of your next turn.

Finally, when you fail a saving throw against an affect that frightens or charms you, you can spend 1 sorcery point to reroll the saving throw, potentially turning the failure into a success.

Inspiring Presence

Your willpower and presence are extraordinary, nearing the peak of human ability. You gain expertise in two charisma skills of your choice. Additionally, as a bonus action, you can target any number of creatures within 60 feet of you and expend a number of sorcery points equal to the number of creatures chosen. Those chosen creatures gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your level. While a creature has these temporary hit points, they are immune to being charmed or frightened.

Beacon of Unyielding Resolve

Your drive to see your goals through to the end is legendary. When you use your Decisive Instinct feature, you do not need to expend a spell slot for the spell you cast. Additionally, if the spell cast with your Decisive Instinct feature deals damage, the spell deals the maximum amount of damage possible. Additionally, you become permanently immune to being frightened or charmed, and when you make a death saving throw, you gain 1 hit point on a roll of 15 or higher.
