Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Heavyweights aren’t fancy, like duellists; they prefer getting their hands dirty, unlike archers. For the Heavyweight there is no greater joy or glory than unarmed combat, using their will and might to overcome insurmountable odds.

The Heavyweight is a Fighter concerned not with martial finesse but raw strength and durability. They believe that the winner of the fight is not the most skilled fighter but the last one standing. Heavyweights are determined to hit the hardest and last the longest. Their fighting style is weaponless, favouring a mixture of boxing, MMA and other hard-hitting disciplines.

Raw Strength

Starting at 3rd level, your determination in battle increases, meaning your attacks land with far more impact. Whenever you hit with an attack, the damage increases by an amount based on your level in this class, as shown on the Heavyweight Bonus Damage table.

Stubborn Resistance

Beginning at 7th level, your sheer stubbornness and force of will grant you mastery over yourself both physically and mentally, allowing you to grit your teeth and endure what would bring a lesser character to their knees.

Whenever you make a saving throw, roll 1d6 and add the rexult to your saving throw total. If applying this bonus to a death saving throw increases the total to 20 or higher, you gain the benefits of rolling a 20 on the d20.

Battle Insight

At 10th level, your experience in sizing up your foes has given you special ability to read their strengths and weaknesses with a glance. In combat, Heavyweight can use a bonus action to select an enemy you can see within 30ft and make an Insight check, difficulty 15. On a success, you gain advantage on attacks against that creature for 1 minute.

Immutable Grapple

Starting at 15th level, the Heavyweight’s grapple attack becomes a vice-like grip. At the beginning of each of the grappled creature’s turns they can attempt to escape; they can contest a DEX or STR check against the Heavyweight’s DEX or STR check. Every round the grappled creature is unable to escape, they take 2d8 damage. If the grappled creature cannot escape after 3 rounds they are asphyxiated; they are reduced to zero hit points and rendered unconscious.

The Unstoppable Force

At 18th level, your martial will is unparalleled, overpowering the protests of your aching body. At the start of each of your turns in combat, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 hit point). You don’t gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points or if you have more than half of your hit points left.
