Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with a mysterious agent of chaos and change. Such beings desire to create entropy and bring about change in the world. Whether for malicious, neutral or even benevolent purposes, these beings are pure turbulence in nature, and desire to use your pact to spread the will of chaos.

Such beings may hail from the chaotic planes of Pandemonium or Limbo, where matter and cosmic laws are mere suggestions. Or they may have come to being simply by cosmic misfortune. Powerful beings of this nature willing to make a pact with warlocks include Beholders, Slaad, Night hags, and notable Gith.

Ever-Changing Gifts

1st-level Polymorph feature

Your patron's chaotic nature freely alters the terms of your pact, bestowing a new gift upon you every dawn.

When you finish a long rest, you can choose one warlock spell you know of 1st level or higher and replace it with another spell of the same level from the warlock spell list. If you know one or more eldritch invocations, you can instead choose one invocation you know and replace it with another invocation. You must meet the prerequisites for the new invocation, and if the new invocation has a level prerequisite, it must replace an invocation that has the same level prerequisite.

The number of spells or invocations that you can replace at the end of a long rest increases as you level up in this class: 2 at 7th level, 3 at 12 level, and 4 at 18th level. Once you can replace multiple spells or invocations at a time, you can replace any combination of spells or invocations using this feature, such as two spells, two invocations, or one of each at 7th level.

Force-Empowered Strikes

1st-level Polymorph feature

Your patron grants you the ability to channel force into your unarmed strikes. You learn the eldritch blast cantrip, but it doesn't count against your number of cantrips known. When you cast eldritch blast and you aren't wielding any weapons or a shield, you can choose to deliver its attacks as unarmed strikes instead of firing beams of energy. Until the end of your turn, the spell has a range equal to the normal reach of your unarmed strikes, and being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your attack rolls with it.

Your Force-Empowered Strikes may take on a myriad of appearances, such as sprouting tentacles or elongating your own appendages. Or they may take on a different form each time you summon them, mirroring the chaotic whims of your patron.

Immutable Mind

6th-level Polymorph feature

Your patron bestows upon you the ability to retain your mind even as your body changes form.

Whenever your form is altered due to a spell or effect, such as polymorph or gaseous form, you are immune to some of the effects as detailed below.

  • You retain your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores, as well as your alignment and personality.
  • You retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of your new form. If your new form has the same proficiency as you and the bonus in its stat block is higher than yours, use its bonus instead of yours.
  • You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them, provided that your new form is physically capable of doing so. You can't use any special senses you have (for example, darkvision) unless your new form also has that sense. You can only speak if your new form can normally speak.
  • Even if your new form can't attack or cast spells, you retain the ability to cast eldritch blast. If you can't provide the verbal or somatic components for the spell, you must deliver its attacks as Force-Empowered Strikes. If you can't attack, the range of these strikes is 5ft.

In addition, whenever your form is altered due to a spell or effect, your melee attacks using unarmed strikes and natural weapons count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Resilient Form

10th-level Polymorph feature

Your patron's magic bolsters you whenever you create entropy. You have resistance to force damage. In addition, damage can't break your concentration when you are concentrating on a Transmutation spell.

Endless Forms

14th-level Polymorph feature

Your patron grants you the ability to achieve any form.

As an action, you can cast polymorph, targeting yourself, without expending a spell slot. When you do so, the new form you choose for yourself can be any creature of CR 12 or lower. The creature can't be a construct or an undead, and you must have seen the sort of creature at least once. You transform into an average example of that creature, one without any class levels or the Spellcasting trait.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
