Base Class: Monk
In martial arts you get your start by copying the moves of your master or teacher. Mimicking moves is the essence of learning, however your master does not need to be humanoid, you learned your abilities by studying cats. Watching their agility, the relaxation they carry into every motion.
Feline Grace
3rd-level Way of Cat Fist feature
Starting when you choose this feature at 3rd level, your movements become more feline, and you move on all four during combat.
Like a curious cat you have no problems squeezing through tight places. Squeezing into smaller places does not reduce your movement.
As cats always land on their feet, so will you. You gain advantage on every Ability Check or Saving Throw that would set you prone on failure. Also taking damage from falling can not set you prone. When you are prone, standing up uses only 5 feet of your movement.
You can take the Disengage action as a bonus action on your turn (without using Ki-Points).
Rapid Claw Strike
3rd-level Way of the Cat Fist feature
You use your ki to scratch your enemies with the ferocity of a cat. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can deal extra slashing damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Dexterity modifier. This feature is then used for every hit you make that turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 ki point to use this feature again.
Starting at 11th level when you use your Flurry of Blows feature you can make three unarmed strikes instead of two, dealing slashing damage instead of bludgeoning.
Hunting Leap
6th-level Way of the Cat Fist feature
When a creature you attacked during your last turn, gets away from you, as it stops moving you can use your reaction to leap up to your movement speed toward that creature. Than as part of that same reaction, if the creature you leapt toward is in range, make an unarmed strike, dealing slashing damage equal to three rolls of your Martial Arts die + your Dexterity Modifier on a hit.
Whiskers Sensation
You feel the air around you and are able to sense subtle changes to the air caused by movements of any sort. You gain proficiency in the Perception skill.
Using ki elevates your cat like abilities even further.
When you use a ki point as part of your action or you use your Rapid Claw Strike class feature, you can take the Dodge action as a bonus action on your turn (wihtout using ki points).
If you use you Flurry of Blows class feature during this turn, your AC increases by +2 until the end of your next turn.
Purring and Hissing
11th-level Way of the Cat Fist feature
You can purr to enhance the abilities that would leave enemies be lulled into a sense of relaxation, or hiss to trigger instinctual flight reactions of enemies.
Whenever a creature within 20 feet of you makes a saving throw against being charmed or frightened and succeeds, you can use your reaction to let that creature make another roll against the same effect and DC, potentially turning a success into a failure.
Soul of the Beast
17th-level Way of the Cat Fist feature
Your mastery of cat like movements starts to flow within you to an instinctual and spiritual level. Expend 5 ki points, for 1 minute you gain advantage on any attack against creatures your size category or bigger. During that time, every unarmed strike you make is automatically under the effect of your Rapid Claw Strike feature. Likewise using your Flurry of Blows feature does not cost any ki points during that minute.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Posted Oct 18, 2021The first version of this subclass. Its main focus being the ability to fight and have the damage numbers keep up with other frontliners, while still being able to use hit and run tactics if necessary or even stand in the front.
I love the monk conceptually, however in my eyes the class doesn't excel in anything that another class couldn't do better already.
Some numbers might need some finetuning, but as far as first versions go im satisfied.
Any thoughts, comments and criticisms or even compliments are welcome ;)
Just keep it civil.
