Monk
Base Class: Monk

These monks can redirect energy from incoming attacks and harmonize it with their own body, turning damaging forces into temporary vitality. Able to harness their harmonized energies and focus them into a concussive force, they can expel their temporary vitality gained from an incoming attack, into additional damage when they strike their foe. They can synergize the techniques they've learned through this tradition with their speed, momentum and accuracy to increase and extend their temporarily gained vitality, as well as boost their ability to hit and dodge attacks. Through sheer mastery they can eventually project this harnessed and synergized ki within them, by redirecting enemy attacks into a concentrated ball of force to hurl at their enemies.

Tai No Henko (Redirect)

Beginning at 3rd level when you choose this tradition, you are able to redirect energy from incoming attacks and harmonize it with your own body. When you take damage from an attack, spell, or a failed Dexterity saving throw forced by a creature within 30 feet which you can see, you can immediately use your reaction to spend 1 ki point to gain temporary hit points equal to your Monk level + your Wisdom ability modifier. You gain these temporary hit points after taking all damage from the triggering attack. Any temporary hit points gained through this feature are lost after 1 minute or when depleted.

Ai Gamae Ate (Harness)

By 6th level, you are able to harness your harmonized energies and focus them into a concussive force. When you hit a creature with an attack roll for an unarmed strike, you may convert any temporary hit points you have gained from your Tai No Henko feature into additional force damage added to that attack. For example, if you have 7 temporary hit points, you can choose to use up to 7 of them to add up to 7 force damage to the attack. Any temporary hit points you convert are lost.

Yudansha (Synergize)

At 11th level, you are able to synergize the techniques you've learned through this tradition with your speed, momentum and accuracy. When you gain temporary hit points through your Tai No Henko feature, you can add additional temporary hit points equal to your Dexterity ability modifier. These hit points now last until depleted or until you complete a long rest.

Additionally, while you have at least 1 temporary hit point gained through your Tai No Henko feature, you gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls with your unarmed strikes and a +1 bonus to your AC.

Tenchi Nage (Throw)

By 17th level, you are able to harness the synergized ki within you gained by redirecting enemy attacks into a concentrated ball of force to hurl at your enemies. When you gain temporary hit points through your Tai No Henko feature, you can choose to gain either the standard amount granted through that feature, or a number of hit points equal to half the triggering effect's damage, whichever is greater.
Additionally, you can use your Ai Gamae Ate feature as part of the same reaction used to gain your temporary hit points, to damage a creature within 30 feet of you which you can see. Damaging a creature within 30 feet of you as apart of your Tai No Henko reaction, consumes 1 additional Ki point.
