Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

While most Paladins are bound by lawful entities, devoted to helping the world and its people, some seek its destruction. Ancient texts tell of the time of the final cataclysm. When it consumes the mortal plane, it will be heralded by four beings known as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Each one embodying an aspect of either: Conquest, Death, Famine, or War. Each one will bring the world as we know to an end, and with it the destruction of all the peoples within. Paladins who uphold the Oath of the Apocalypse are the servants of one of these Horsemen and will assist them in making sure that the cataclysm with proceed.

Channel Divinity

3rd-level Oath of the Apocalypse feature

You gain the following two Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.

Channel Death. You can use Channel Divinity to destroy another creature's life force by touch. When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you can use Channel Divinity to deal extra necrotic damage to the target, and the target cannot regain hit points equal to that damage for the next hour. The extra damage equals 5 + your spellcasting modifier.

Command of Hell. As an action, you create an aura 10 feet around you in every direction that lasts for one minute. All creatures that start or end their turn must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or their actions for that turn are designated by you. If they save from it they are immune to the ability until they take a long rest.

Aura of Apocalypse

7th- and 18th-level Oath of the Apocalypse feature

You and allied creatures within 10 feet of you have resistance to necrotic damage.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Knell of the Grave

15th-level Oath of the Apocalypse feature

You have learnt to twist the knell of the grave to your own bidding. If you do necrotic damage to an enemy that is resistant or immune, you can change the damage to psychic damage as a bell rings in their head, signaling that their death is nigh. In addition, you are no longer affected by the aging process and age more slowly. You age about 1 year for every 10 years.

Harbinger of Cataclysm

20th-level Oath of the Apocalypse feature

You can empower yourself with the power of the Apocolypse, your skin becoming translucent and you appear as a veiled skeleton to enemies. As a bonus action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • When you hit an enemy, they become frightened of you. (Under the frightened condition)
  • You exude a 60ft aura of magical darkness that you and your allies can see through but not your enemies.
  • You gain immunity to fear and necrotic damage.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell slot to use it again.
