Monk
Base Class: Monk

Resourceful Brawlers are monks that prefer a nearby chair or broken bottle to simple fists. Their preparedness is only matched by the surprise they can inflict on assailants by said preparedness.

Improvised Smackdown

At third level when you choose this subclass, you gain proficiency with improvised weapons and they count as monk weapons for you. In addition, if you grab it from the your surroundings, rather than carrying it on you, you have advantage in the first attack you make with it.

Prepared for Anything

At 6th level, you cannot be surprised and you add your wisdom modifier to your initiative rolls. In addition, if a creature would attempt to attack and surprise you, you can spend one ki point to make an attack on it as a reaction.

Wiley Defense

At 11th level, you gain the ability to confuse your enemies and use this to defend yourself. While holding an improvised weapon, when you take damage, you can spend 1 ki point to reduce the damage by one roll of your marital arts die as a reaction. For every extra ki point you spend, you can reduce the damage by an extra roll. Additionally, you can spend 5 ki points to gain resistance to non magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage for one minute.

All Out Buster

At 17th level, you can put all of your force into a blow, forgetting about the durability of your weapon. When you make an attack with an improvised weapon, you can spend 4 ki points to get advantage on the attack. If the attack hits, you deal additional damage equal to your wisdom score. Additionally, if this attack critically hits, you may roll an additional 2 martial arts dice when determining damage. Whether or not this attack hits, the weapon you are using breaks, and it, as well as all of its pieces, becomes unusable.
