Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

(based on the knights radiant on Roshar in the Stormlight archives by Brandon Sanderson.)

You are bonded to one of nine Spren of Andolism from the world of Roshar, gaining access to two of ten surges, powers that are derived from nature and bending natural things. being bonded to a Spren makes you a specific type of radiant, the types, surges, and the Spren being:

Windrunners - Honorspren; Surges 1 and 2
Skybreakers - Highspren; Surges 2 and 3
Dustbringers - Ashspren; Surges 3 and 4
Edgedancers - Cultivationspren; Surges 4 and 5
Truthwatchers - Mistspren; Surges 5 and 6
Lightweavers - Cryptic (Liespren); Surges 6 and 7
Elsecallers - Inkspren; Surges 7 and 8
Willshapers - Lightspren; Surges 8 and 9
Stonewards - Peakspren; Surges 9 and 10

The ten surges are:

  1. Adhesion - Surge of Pressure and Vacume
  2. Gravitation - Surge of Gravity
  3. Division - Surge of Destruction and Decay
  4. Abrasion - Surge of Friction
  5. Progression - Surge of Growth and Healing, or Regrowth
  6. Illumination - Surge of Light, Sound, and Various Waveforms
  7. Transformation - Surge of Soulcasting
  8. Trasportation - Surge of Motion and Realmatic Transition
  9. Cohesion - Surge of Strong Axial Interconnection
  10. Tension - Surge of Soft Axial Interconnection

Note: the Bondsmith order is unclear and not currently available, due to their op abilities and rarity

You communicate freely with your Spren, both mentally an out loud, and are friends with them. If you break your oath, which can happen anytime before the swearing of the 5th Ideal (level 10), the Spen is esentially killed, and you loose all powers associated with Radiants. The bond and Spren can be healed with a great deal of effort on your part, and you can only ever bond to one Spren.

Nahal bond

You are bonded to a spren, granting access to two surges choose a spren to bond to.

Windrunners - Honorspren; Surges 1 and 2
Skybreakers - Highspren; Surges 2 and 3
Dustbringers - Ashspren; Surges 3 and 4
Edgedancers - Cultivationspren; Surges 4 and 5
Truthwatchers - Mistspren; Surges 5 and 6
Lightweavers - Cryptic (Liespren); Surges 6 and 7
Elsecallers - Inkspren; Surges 7 and 8
Willshapers - Lightspren; Surges 8 and 9
Stonewards - Peakspren; Surges 9 and 10

The ten surges are:

  1. Adhesion - Surge of Pressure and Vacume
  2. Gravitation - Surge of Gravity
  3. Division - Surge of Destruction and Decay
  4. Abrasion - Surge of Friction
  5. Progression - Surge of Growth and Healing, or Regrowth
  6. Illumination - Surge of Light, Sound, and Various Waveforms
  7. Transformation - Surge of Soulcasting
  8. Trasportation - Surge of Motion and Realmatic Transition
  9. Cohesion - Surge of Strong Axial Interconnection
  10. Tension - Surge of Soft Axial Interconnection
Dustbringer

You are bonded to an Ashspren, giving you access to the surges of Division and Abrasion.

Division:

  • Decay: Using the Surge of Division, the Surgebinder can touch an object and cause it to burn, turn to dust, or decay in other ways. The Surgebinder can exercise significant control, such as to burn a pattern into a piece of wood. It can also be used on humans. This splits the molecular bonds of the object the Surge is used on, but not the atoms themselves. It is likely to have the ability to ignite objects. Decay can be used to create types of sculptures, such as adding color when burning objects or grayscaling them. The amount of Stormlight used changes depending on the amount of matter divided.

Abrasion:

  • Slicking: This ability allows the Surgebinder to make their body frictionless. The Surgebinder can choose which parts of the body are affected and which parts are not; for example, the bottom of the feet can be infused so that the Surgebinder glides over any surface without losing momentum until the ability is suspended. Wind friction can also be affected. However, slicking doesn't reduce the force of direct collisions. People experienced in its use often move as though they were ice-skating on the ground. Slicking can also be used to escape any grasp, or slip through tight openings. It can also be applied to objects, making it so that only the Surgebinder can grip the object without it slipping. It can be applied in reverse to enhance the presence of friction, giving astounding grip to something and making it impossible to slide.

Edgedancer

You are bonded to a Cultivationspren, granting you access to the surges of Abrasion and Progression.

Progression:

  • Growth: This ability accelerates organic growth to tremendous speeds. The Surgebinder can infuse the seeds of a plant with Stormlight through skin contact, and in seconds, it will become fully developed. This ability only works on plants, or basic organisms.
  • Regrowth: This ability heals the damage done to the body and the soul of a person instantly and without any scarring. The flesh, muscle, or bones can be completely regrown rapidly. The body can be refreshed and rid of fatigue. The Surgebinder can even reverse death with Regrowth; a body that has bled out or a soul that has been severed with a Shardblade can be healed with Regrowth and continue to function as if it has never been damaged. However, once the soul leaves the body and reaches the afterlife, it is impossible for the Surgebinder to revive the person. This ability may also fail to heal injuries that are too old, due to them becoming part of the person. Only available after level two.

Elsecaller

You are bonded to an Inkspren, granting you access to the surges of Transformation and Transportation.

Transformation:

  • Soulcasting: This ability transforms any material into one of the Surgebinder's choice. To Soulcast, the Surgebinder shifts their perception to see into the Cognitive Realm, and communicates with the Cognitive aspect of the object they want to transform. This is normally done through direct contact with an object, however, can be performed from a distance. Elsecallers are more skilled at doing this, though it is not impossible for a Lightweaver to be able to Soulcast from afar. Not every object is inclined to change, depending on how the object is seen by the sentient species and how it sees itself, so the Surgebinder may need to negotiate with it. Once the object is convinced into changing, the Surgebinder infuses it with Stormlight, and the transformation process takes place instantaneously. It is technically possible for the Surgebinder to transform anything into anything else, but transforming something into the pure form of an Essence is the easiest to accomplish, while transforming the object into something unfamiliar is a lot harder. It is possible to transfer a Soulcasting from one material to another, like a disease, without the Soulcaster directly Soulcasting them. It is unknown if objects can transfer a Soulcasting into a different material than what they turned into or if they can only transfer a Soulcasting to the same type of object they are. The target of Soulcasting can be both an inanimate item and a person, although a person will present greater difficulty, due to the innate Investiture and sense of self they hold.

Transportation:

  • Elsecalling: In their home universe, the Cosmere, this ability allows the Surgebinder to travel between the Physical Realm and other Realms by creating a miniature perpendicularity. A circular wall of Stormlight can be seen briefly at the target location before the Surgebinder arrives. The Surgebinder can also bring other beings and objects with them while transporting themselves. This allows many Surgebinders with Transportation the ability to worldhop. However, it's much harder to return to the Physical Realm than it is to exit it, and although it is possible to transition realms without a waypoint, those that are less skilled need to find a point where the two Realms touch to be able to leave. The amount of Stormlight consumed depends on the mass of the objects being transported. This ability can also be used to transport inanimate objects from one place to another in the Physical realm, and allows the user to see the spiritual aspect of those that they wish to by shifting their viewpoint into the realms but not their whole self.

Lightweaver

You are bonded to a Liespren (Cryptic), granting you access to the surges of Illumination and Transformation.

Illumination:

  • Lightweaving: This ability creates visual and auditory illusions. The illusion is based upon not just what the Surgebinder imagines, but also desires to create, requiring both a mental picturing of and a Spiritual connection to the intended creation. Once the creation is shaped, the Surgebinder breathes out a cloud of Stormlight to form the illusion. The illusion can be created anywhere, but requires a constant source of Stormlight, so the Surgebinder — or a being the Surgebinder is Spiritually linked to — needs to keep in proximity to it. Because the illusion automatically feeds off the Surgebinder, the glowing effect common to the Surgebinders as the Stormlight leaks out of their bodies does not happen, as excess Stormlight is instead fed to the illusion. Unless the Surgebinder intentionally dissolves the apparition, it will stay active until they run out of Stormlight or leaves its proximity. It can even stay active while the Surgebinder is unconscious. It's possible for the Surgebinder to attach the illusion to themself, as well as a being they are Spiritually linked to such as the spren that forms the Nahel bond, so that the illusion automatically follows their movements. This way, an illusion of a disguise can mimic facial expressions or adapt to the clothing or the accessories they are wearing. Experienced practitioners of this art can also attach the illusion to an object that is infused with Stormlight, such as a sphere. The illusory image has no substance to it, and if an object physically passes through the illusion, the image fuzzes to Stormlight until the object withdraws. Light itself does not pass through the illusion; if the Surgebinder wants to see through it, they must put in viewing holes. The amount of Stormlight the illusion requires depends on the complexity of it. Lightweaving can manipulate all forms of electromagnetic radiation, including lasers, and also various other waveforms, primarily sound. Due to a Lightweaver's access to the surge of transformation, higher leveled ones can sometimes give their illusions substance, though never as much as the real thing.

Skybreaker

You are bonded to a Highspren, and gain access to the surges of Gravitation and Division.

Grvitation

  • Basic Lashing: This ability alters an object's or being's spiritual gravitational bond to the planet below, instead temporarily linking it to a different object or direction. It allows the Surgebinder to run up walls, or send objects or people flying off into the air. Lashings only affects gravitational pull and not mass, so different things with different masses will still fall at the same speed. Lashings can only send something in a particular direction and can not be locked into following an object. Lashing can also affect liquids. Surgebinders can rotate themselves in the air using wind resistance, and can also lessen the force of the wind while flying. Taking sharp turns while Lashing can cause the Surgebinder to black out. When Lashing multiple objects or beings at a time, it is possible to create a sort of channel around the group, which will keep them close together. Basic Lashing requires skin contact if the Surgebinder is trying to infuse an external object or being. Basic Lashing continually consumes the Stormlight with which the object is infused until the object runs out of Stormlight or the Surgebinder dismisses their Lashing; as such, the length of a Basic Lashing is dependent on the amount of Stormlight used. Advanced users of Basic Lashing can employ partial Lashings — a half-Lashing upward, for example, would make the Surgebinder effectively weightless, while a quarter-Lashing would halve the person's weight. It is also possible to use multiple Basic Lashings simultaneously so that the infused object or being will be pulled toward different directions at once or pulled toward a single direction but stronger than gravity normally would. It is possible to only Lash part of an object, though this requires skill.

Division

  • Decay: Using the Surge of Division, the Surgebinder can touch an object and cause it to burn, turn to dust, or decay in other ways. The Surgebinder can exercise significant control, such as to burn a pattern into a piece of wood. It can also be used on humans. This splits the molecular bonds of the object the Surge is used on, but not the atoms themselves. It is likely to have the ability to ignite objects. Decay can be used to create types of sculptures, such as adding color when burning objects or grayscaling them. The amount of Stormlight used changes depending on the amount of matter divided.

Stonewards

You are bonded to a Peakspren, granting access to the surges of Cohesion and Tension.

Cohesion:

  • Stoneshaping: This ability manipulates the forces that bind axi together. While in use, a Surgebinder can mold stone (or other materials) as if it were clay without the use of heat. Stone is able to sense the Intent of the Surgebinder and their past. Though stone tends to be the most difficult to Soulcast, it will easily obey through Cohesion. In essence, the user can manipulate solid objects on a molecular level, though they are unable to affect living things, and anything with Stormlight or other Investiture in it.

Tension:

  • Flexibility: This ability can be used to alter the stiffness of an object; for example, taking something flexible and making it rigid. Much like Cohesion, Tension is highly resisted by Investiture.

Truthwatcher

You are bonded with a Mistspren, granting access to the surges of Progression and Illumination.

The amount of Stormlight required depends on the severity of the injury. Only available after level two.

Willshaper

You are bonded to a Lightspren, granting access to the surges of Transportation and Cohesion.

Transportation:

  • Elsecalling: In the home universe, the Cosmere, this ability allows the Surgebinder to travel between the Physical Realm and other Realms by creating a miniature perpendicularity. In essence, the user can manipulate solid objects on a molecular level, though they are unable to affect living things, and anything with Stormlight or other Investiture in it.

Windrunner

You bond an Honorspren and gain access to the Surges of Gravitation and Adhesion.

The abilities this grants are:

Adhesion:

  • Full lashing: Create a extremely powerful temporary bond between two objects. To use this ability, the Surgebinder infuses a surface with Stormlight, after which any object or person that comes in contact with the surface will be bound to it. Full Lashing does not necessarily require skin contact; surfaces can be infused by "spraying" the Stormlight onto them. Most objects would break apart themselves before the bond holding them would. The duration of this bond is determined by the amount of Stormlight infused. The bond ends when the Stormlight runs out. Someone wearing Shardplate is immune to Lashings, but any objects that they are touching can be affected.

Gravitation:

  • Basic Lashing:  alters an object's or being's spiritual gravitational bond to the planet below, instead temporarily linking it to a different object or direction.
  • Reverse Lashing: By combining the Surges of Gravitation and Adhesion, a Windrunner can create a bubble around a surface that imitates its spiritual link to the ground beneath it. In effect, this makes the infused object pull other objects towards itself. It is much harder for Reverse Lashing to affect objects touching the ground, where their link to the planet is the strongest; objects falling or in flight are the easiest to influence. Other objects can be affected, but the Stormlight and skill required are much more substantial. This ability is believed to be a specialized version of Basic Lashing. Reverse Lashing requires constant skin contact for it to work, though it consumes comparatively little Stormlight. A Reverse Lashing can be powerful enough to bend the path of bullets, or tear the head of an Ogre from its body. Objects infused with a Reverse Lashing do not glow with Stormlight, becoming darker instead along with other things in their vicinity, possibly by pulling light into the object.

Stormlight

You have a supply of crystals that have each day (your paladin level)d12 points of Stormlight. The amount of Stormlight points is rerolled each day, but it is cumulative, so that all Stormlight points you did not use for the previous seven days you keep. These Points can be used to fuel the other abilities granted by the class. At the beginning of each week, the amount of Stormlight points is reset to (your paladin level)d12 points.

Stormlight Inhalation

As a bonus action, you can inhale Stormlight from your supply to fuel your surges, heal wounds, or to gain the benefits of high investment, which are plus 10 bonus to Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength, giving you superhuman endurance, speed, strength, stamina, and healing. As the body is an imperfect container for the Stormlight, it leaks out at the rate of one point per hour, but you loose half a point every time you talk.

Radiant Healing

You can heal yourself from wounds as long as you have Stormlight in the vicinity. You inhale the Stormlight as a bonus action, and it is consumed to heal your wounds. the worse the wound, the more Stormlight it requires to heal. For each hit point of damage, you consume one point of Stormlight to heal, and this will happen regardless of what you want to do when you inhale the Stormlight, Healing damage comes first, and the most serve wounds will heal first. This will also heal spiritual damage caused by a Shardblade, though it must consume three points of Stormlight to do so.

Surges

You have access to the first of the two surges granted to you by your bond. The surges are :

  1. Adhesion - Windrunner
  2. Gravitation - Skybreaker
  3. Division - Dustbringer
  4. Abrasion - Edgedancer
  5. Progression - Truthwatcher
  6. Illumination - Lightweaver
  7. Transformation - Elsecaller
  8. Transportation - Willshaper
  9. Cohesion - Stoneward
Abrasion

You have access to the surge of Abrasion, and can use it, or more specifically, the ability called Slicking.

For a bonus action, if on yourself, you can engage the ability Slicking. This ability allows you to make your body frictionless. You can choose which parts of the body are affected and which parts are not; for example, the bottom of the feet can be infused so that you glide over any surface without losing momentum until the ability is suspended. It can be applied in reverse to enhance the presence of friction, giving astounding grip to something and making it impossible to slide, but direct collisions still affect it, and it can be lifted from something.

Adhesion

You have learnt the surge of adhesion, and can use it, more specifically, what is called the full lashing.

Used as an Action. The use of the Full Lashing creates a extremely powerful temporary bond between two objects. To use this ability, the Surgebinder infuses a surface with Stormlight, after which any object or person that comes in contact with the surface will be bound to it. Full Lashing does not necessarily require skin contact; surfaces can be infused by "spraying" the Stormlight onto them. The range of this is only 10 feet. Most objects would break apart themselves before the bond holding them would. The duration of this bond is determined by the amount of Stormlight infused, one Stormlight point creates an effect that lasts for a half hour, so anyone/thing that touches the infused area becomes attatched until the Stormlight runs out, until the thirty minutes are up. The bond ends when the Stormlight runs out. Someone wearing Shardplate is immune to Lashings, but any objects that they are touching can be affected.

Cohesion

You have access to the surge of Cohesion, and can use it, or more specifically, the ability called Stoneshaping.

As an action, you can use the ability Stoneshaping. This ability manipulates the forces that bind axi (atoms) together. While in use, you can mold stone (or other solid materials) as if it were clay without the use of heat. Stone is able to sense the Intent of the Surgebinder and their past. Though stone tends to be the most difficult to Soulcast, it will easily obey through Cohesion. In essence, the user can manipulate solid objects on a molecular level, though they are unable to affect living things, and anything with Stormlight, other Investiture, or magic running through it in it is almost impossible to manipulate, actively resisting the manipulation.

Division

You have access to the surge of Division, and can use it, or more specifically, the ability called decay.

As an action, you can use Decay, or the Surge of Division. You can touch an object and cause it to burn, turn to dust, or decay in other ways. You can exercise significant control, such as to burn a pattern into a piece of wood. It can also be used on humans, causing their flesh to split and cells to be destroyed. This ability splits the molecular bonds of the object the Surge is used on, but not the atoms themselves. It can be used to ignite some objects. Decay can be used to create types of sculptures, such as adding color when burning objects or grayscaling them. The amount of Stormlight used changes depending on the amount of matter divided. To decay a cubic foot of material uses one Stormlight point, though for less material there is a loss of Stormlight.

Gravitation

You have access to the Surge of Gravitation, and can use it, or more specifically, the ability called the basic lashing.

As an action, you can use the Basic Lashing, which alters an object's or being's spiritual gravitational bond to the planet below, instead temporarily linking it to a different object or direction. One Basic lashing normaly consumes one Stormlight Point, regardless of the object used, though it does not work on objects that are tied down ot the like. A half-Lash consumes half a point of Stormlight, but lasts just as long as a normal lashing. Lashing yourself/something multiple times in the same direction makes you/it fall faster, but consumes more points of Stormlight for the same duration of the effect.

Illumination

You have access to the surge of Illumination, and can use it, or more specifically, the ability called Lightweaving.

As an action, you can use Lightweaving, or the surge of Illumination. This ability creates visual and auditory illusions. The illusion is based upon not just what you imagine, but also what you desire to create, requiring both a mental picturing of and a Spiritual connection to the intended creation. Once the creation is shaped, you breathe out a cloud of Stormlight to form the illusion. The illusion can be created anywhere, but requires a constant source of Stormlight, so you — or a being that you are Spiritually linked to — needs to keep in proximity to it. Because the illusion automatically feeds off you, the glowing effect common to the Surgebinders as the Stormlight leaks out of their bodies does not happen, as excess Stormlight is instead fed to the illusion. Unless you intentionally dissolves the apparition, it will stay active until you run out of Stormlight or leave its proximity. It can even stay active while you are unconscious. It's possible for you to attach the illusion to yourself, as well as a being you are Spiritually linked to such as the spren that forms the Nahel bond, so that the illusion automatically follows their movements. Light itself does not pass through the illusion; if you wants to see through it, you must put in viewing holes. The amount of Stormlight the illusion requires depends on the complexity of it. Lightweaving can manipulate all forms of electromagnetic radiation, including lasers, and also various other waveforms, primarily sound. To sustain an illusion of a wall for one hour requires one Stormlight point, and to sustain an illusion of a person for an hour requires two Stormlight points. Sound illusions do not require excess Stormlight points if attatched to a visual illusion, but requires one Stormlight point for an unattatched noise of a half-hour duration.

Progression

You have access to the surge of Progression, and can use it, or more specifically, the abilities of Growth and Regrowth.

As an action, you can use the ability Growth. This ability accelerates organic growth to tremendous speeds. You can infuse the seeds of a plant with Stormlight through skin contact, and in seconds, it will become fully developed. This ability only works on plants, or basic organisms like bacteria. This requires one Stomlight point to use, and has the same effect regardless on the plant you use it on.

As an action, you can use the Ability called Regrowth. This ability heals the damage done to the body and the soul of a person instantly and without any scarring. The amount of Stormlight required depends on the severity of the injury.

Transformation

You have access to the surge of Transformation, and can use it, or more specifically the ability known as Soulcasting

As an action, you can use the ability Soulcasting. This ability transforms any material into one of your choice. To Soulcast, you shift your perception to see into the Cognitive Realm, and communicate with the Cognitive aspect of the object you want to transform. This is normally done through direct contact with an object, however, it can be performed from a distance, though this is more dificult. Elsecallers are more skilled at doing this, though it is not impossible for a Lightweaver to be able to Soulcast from afar. Not every object is inclined to change, depending on how the object is seen by the sentient species and how it sees itself, so you may need to negotiate with it. Once the object is convinced into changing, you infuse it with Stormlight, and the transformation process takes place instantaneously. It is possible for the Surgebinder to transform anything into anything else, but transforming something into the pure form of an Essence is the easiest to accomplish, while transforming the object into something unfamiliar can be a lot harder. It is possible to transfer a Soulcasting from one material to another, like a disease, without you directly Soulcasting them. The target of Soulcasting can be both an inanimate item and a person, although a person will present greater difficulty, due to the innate Investiture and sense of self they hold. The amount of Stormlight points required to transform an object depends on how similar to the original substance the new substance is you wish to transform the object into is, and on how familiar it is to you. You are not able to create precious gems, it is not possible for any soulcaster to do that, though they can create other crystaline forms like quartz.

Transportation

You have access to the surge of Transportation, and can use it, or more specifically, the ability called Elsecalling.

As an action, you can use the ability Elsecalling, transporting you to where you wish. In their home universe, the Cosmere, this ability allows the Surgebinder to travel between the Physical Realm and other Realms by creating a miniature perpendicularity. This does not require the user to have Stormlight, though it can be dangerous. In the realms of D&D, this ability essentially allows you to perform the spell Teleport, though without certain restrictions and with others. It is easier to go from the material plane to another plane, though you can go back to the material plane with some dificulty. You are also confined by the amount of Stormlight you have, and how far from your location you wish to transport.

Shardblade

You say the third Ideal, the third oath of your order, and gain your Shardblade.

Your Shardblade is an Invested Weapon that is a physical form of your Spren. As long as your Spren is with you and you are in the Material Plane, it can evaporate into a silver mist only visible to you and then congeal into a silver-colored weapon visible to everyone. The Weapon can shift as you like, though the Spren also has influence over the blade. It can be anything from a sword to a mace, essentially anything you can imagine, as long as it is totally metal (any wood would be metal, for example.) It will cut strait through any nonliving material like a blade made of graphene, slicing through it like water. Even though they can cut through nearly any material, there is still a slight bit of resistance even when cutting through inanimate objects. When cutting through an object, Shardblades leave behind distinctive perfectly clean cuts. However, when swung at a person or other living object, the edge of the Shardblade will fuzz, leaving the physical body unharmed, and cutting the being's soul. It is still possible to Soulcast a person killed by a Shardblade. The wielder of the Blade feels a small tug of resistance as the Blade passes through living material. If the Blade cuts the core of a person's limb, the person feels a flash of incredible pain and then the limb turns gray and becomes limp and numb. If an internal organ is pierced by a Shardblade, it may be killed or cease to function. If the Blade strikes the spine or head, the eyes of the person blacken and burn out with a dark smoke rising from them. When a person is killed this way by a Shardblade, death is not instantaneous; it often takes a few moments for the person to be completely dead. Once a person or other living thing has been killed, its remains can be cut like any other inanimate object. This applies to plants as well; it takes two swings of a Shardblade to sever a plant, one to kill the soul and another to cut it. Non-living portions of a living thing, such as hair or nails can be cut with a Shardblade before the creature itself is killed. Parts of a body that have been damaged by a Shardblade are typically referred to as Blade-dead. Blood continues to flow through them, and they do not rot.

Shardblades cannot be blocked by any typical weapons or armor, but they can be halted by a few things. One Shardblade can block another Shardblade, and when the two collide they may produce sparks. Shardplate can also stop a Shardblade, although two blows to a section of Shardplate is typically enough to shatter it. Highly Invested objects, such as a fully charged metalmind or an item that is heavily enchanted, would be enough to block, or at least resist, a blow from a Shardblade. A heavily Invested person can theoretically resist a blow from a Shardblade, though this is somewhat unreliable. The final known way to block a Shardblade is with aluminum. It is worth noting that the aluminum only nullifies the supernatural sharpness of the Blade, so a thin sheet of aluminum foil would be sheared through easily by a Blade.

Second Surges

You have access to the second of the two surges granted to you by your bond. The Surges are:

  1. Gravitation - Windrunner
  2. Division - Skybreaker
  3. Abrasion - Dustbringer
  4. Progression - Edgedancer
  5. Illumination - Truthwatcher
  6. Transformation - Lightweaver
  7. Transportation - Elsecaller
  8. Cohesion - Willshaper
  9. Tension - Stoneward

It can be applied in reverse to enhance the presence of friction, giving astounding grip to something and making it impossible to slide, but direct collisions still affect it, and it can be lifted from something.

Gravitation

You have access to the Surge of Gravitation, and can use it, or more specifically, the abilities called the basic lashing and the Reverse lashing.

As an action, you can use the Reverse Lashing, which combines the Surges of Gravitation and Adhesion. You can create a bubble around a surface that imitates its spiritual link to the ground beneath it. A Reverse Lashing can be powerful enough to bend the path of bullets, or tear the head of a Goblin from its body. Objects infused with a Reverse Lashing do not glow with Stormlight, becoming darker instead along with other things in their vicinity, possibly by pulling light into the object.

As an action, you can use the Basic Lashing, which alters an object's or being's spiritual gravitational bond to the planet below, instead temporarily linking it to a different object or direction.

The amount of Stormlight required depends on the severity of the injury.

Tension

You have access to the surge of Tension, and can use it, or more specifically the ability called Bend.

As an action, you can use the ability Bend, or the surge of Tension. Also called the Surge of Soft Axial Interconnection, it can be manipulated to alter the stiffness of an object you are touching; for example, taking something flexible like rubber and making it rigid like glass, or taking something rigid like stone and making it flexible like rubber. Much like Cohesion, Tension is highly resisted by Investiture, so anything that is highly invested resists manipulation. It takes one Stormlight point to manipulate the flexibility of one cubic foot of material, and the change in flexibility lasts indefinitely, making it quite useful to the imaginative. It does not work on currently living things.

It is easier to go from the material plane to another plane, though you can go back to the material plane with some dificulty. You are also confined by the amount of Stormlight you have, and how far from your location you wish to transport.

Shardplate

You say the Fourth Ideal, the fourth oath of your order, and gain your Shardplate. The Shardplate is living and made of lesser Spren, who have intelligence approximately equivalent to that of animals. The Shardplate forms around you in a similar way to how the Shardblade forms when summoned, and it too can be dismissed.

Shardplate provides protection from impact caused by a weapon or from a fall. The individual wearing the Plate is able to feel impacts from within the armor, but their force is greatly reduced. The sensation of touch, however, is transferred through the fingers of the gauntlets, allowing the wearer to feel fine detail. Shardplate is durable enough to withstand gunshots. Shardplate is also highly conductive and transmits electricity like a Faraday cage -- allowing electricity to flow through the plate and not the body -- protecting the wearer from attacks by Blue and Bronze Dragons. Shardplate is very heavy and thus it is hard to trip or stumble the Shardbearer.

Shardplate differs from ordinary armor in that it can stop blows from Shardblades. This capacity is not unlimited, as shardweapons can still crack and even break the Plate with repeated blows. But Shardplate is one of the few materials that can block or resist a Shardblade strike to any degree.

Shardplate does not dent or bend. Instead, sections of the armor can crack after heavy or repeated impact and will eventually fail. When a section of the armor fails, it will explode into bits of molten metal. Damaged sections will leak Stormlight. While enough leaks will deplete the gemstones and cause the armor to lock up, individual leaks, even large ones, will eventually "seal over" on their own, preventing further loss of Stormlight, even if the damage hasn't fully healed yet.

Shardplate also greatly enhances its users' strength and speed. It provides the ability to jump great distances, heave objects of great weight, and run at high speeds.  The extra support of Shardplate can assist the wearer in overcoming physical injuries that might otherwise leave them incapacitated. Shardbearers require extensive training to be able to control this strength and move smoothly without damaging everyday objects.

Agility and dexterity are increased by Shardplate. A person armored in Shard acquires faster reflexes and is more responsive in battle.

The Shardplate helmet has a face shield with a horizontal eye slit for visibility. In living Shardplate, from the inside, the helmet is as transparent as glass and the eye slit is not necessary and can be sealed. In some instances, the face shield can adapt to protect the wearer's vision from the brightness of a lightning strike. When closed, the edges of the visor meld into a single, unbroken surface with the rest of the helm in a small puff of mist.

Due to its heavily Invested nature, Shardplate protects the user from most forms of Investiture, including Surgebinding, though this effect is weakened if parts, such as the helm, have been removed. It is not possible to use any lashings against someone armored in Shardplate, though those in it can use surges on themselves and others not in Shardplate.

Fifth Ideal

You swear the Fifth and final Ideal, reaching the full potential of your bond with your Spren. Your bond with your Spren is now incredibly strong, safely breakable only by death. If you betray your oaths, then you can still kill your Spren, but this can be only temporary as long as you work to become better(there is a little leeway in the oaths, and they depend on how both you and the Spren see them.) You gain a permanent increase in Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity, and each action you make with your Stormlight takes half as many points as it would otherwise. You also gain certain abilities that are results of resonance between your two Surges and control of the lesser Spren that make up your Shardplate.

Dustbringer - Decayless

Once per any rest, you gain the ability to use Decayless. This allows you to choose an object, and it becomes immune to decay and Necrotic damage for either 24 hours or until you dismiss the effect. This does not require any Stormlight.

Edgedancer - Phytokinesis

You gain the ability to use Phytokinesis. This allows you to control plants with your thoughts, moving them to your will and allowing them to move faster and grip better than should naturally be possible. You can not control more than 10 plants at once, though ones that are interconnected generally count as just one plant. You can only use the ability 5 times every short rest. In essence, you cast the spell Speak With Plants, with a few modifications. This does not require any Stormlight.

Elsecaller - Conjuring

You gain the ability to use Conjuring, shifting small inanimate objects from one place to another. This merely requires you to concentrate on the small object that you know the location of within the same plane and will fit in a 1 foot cube, will it to come to you, and it will appear with a small popping sound where you want in an empty space within ten feet of you. Also, as an action, once per long rest, you can transport any amount of objects from one place to another (Including yourself) that are in a 20 foot cube from to any place on any plane to any place on the same or another plane as long as you can visualize it relatively well. (essentially casting Teleport) If you can not visualize it well enough, the shift fails, and you loose half your hit points, though nothing else you were attempting to shift is damaged or moved in any way.

Lightweaver - Soligram

You gain the ability to use Soligram. Any illusion you make now can feel solid, up to 3/4s of the solidity of the actual object, but it only does this if you want it to. This does not require any extra Stormlight. Also, once per long rest, you can create a beam of light that shoots for 30 feet in the direction you wish, pushing anyone/thing out of it's way, dealing 10d10 bludgeoning damage to the things it touches. The light can be any color you wish, as long as it is in the visible spectrum (ie: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). It will move as you wish, and makes the area within 30 in bright light.

Skybreaker - Blazewind

Once per any rest, you gain the ability to use Blazewind. This ability creates a burst of burning wind directed by your will that does 6d12+5 Fire damage to any creature it comes in contact with. This does not require any Stormlight.

Stoneward - Stateshift

Once per any rest, you gain the ability to use Stateshift. This allows you to change the state of up to 50 cubic feet of any material from it's current state to another of the three basic states of matter and back again. This does not require any Stormlight.

Truthwatcher - Healight

You gain the ability to use Healight, allowing you to crate a beam of light that washes over living beings in the vicinity, restoring up to half their hit points. If it touches an undead, it deals them 10d10 radiant damage. You are capable of exempting up to 7 creatures in the light from its effects. You can use this ability once per long rest, and it does not require Stormlight.

Willshaper - Stoneshift

You gain the ability to use Stoneshift. This ability allows you to move through stone as if it was water whenever you want, taking your clothes and gear touching you with you. You are not able to breath while you do this, and must hold your breath. Also, once per short rest, you can move up to three people and all their items from one place to another through interconnected stone (this means that the two places have to be connected by continuous veins of stone, though various types of stone touching each other count.)This does not require Stormlight.

Windrunner - Stormwall

Once per any rest, you gain the ability to use Stormwall. This allows you to change the direction of storms, though not completely stop them, destroy them, or create them. You can also create a strong wind that lasts for an hour, which you can redirect as you wish. This does not require any Stormlight.

Full power

You get a boost to all your powers, halving the amount of Stormlight needed for all Surgebinding, gaining 3d12 Stormlight to add to your pool. You get a +2 boost in all of your ability scores, and you have twice as many uses for your 5th ideal power per reset.
