Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Devourer is a cursed one, making one yearn for flesh or magical energy to become satiated. The power they gain is immense but comes at a wicked cost.
Draining Bite
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, the hunger within you grows when you rage and fuels your strength. While you're raging, you can use your bonus action after making an attack to Draining Bite your opponent either siphoning their life force away or ripping their flesh away, dealing 1d4 necrotic damage + strength modifier and healing you for half of it. If you score a critical hit on this attack the damage and healing is doubled, but the target also reduces their maximum HP by the damage dealt.
This ability does not work against Undead or Constructs. If a creature is resistant to necrotic damage the healing is also reduced.
The damage increases to 1d6 at level 6, 1d8 at level 10, and 1d12 at level 14.
Manifestation of Hunger
Beginning at 6th level, the hunger inside you needs more sustenance and your stomach grows to fit it all. If you are raging and damage a creature of medium size or lower to half of it's HP you can then make a grapple attempt against them. If the grapple succeeds, you then swallow the creature whole, sending it into a extra dimensional space inside of your stomach. The hunger within you manifests itself into a shadowy nightmare that attempts to kill the creature inside. The Hungers HP equals a quarter of your Max HP and has an AC of 14. If the creature inside your stomach dies to the Hunger you gain temporary hitpoints equal to your level and if the Hunger dies the creature is spit out and you gain a level of exhaustion.
The Hunger does not regenerate hitpoints until a long rest and you can only use this ability up to your proficiency modifier.
Multiattack. The Hunger makes two Bite attacks.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +Your strength + proficiency to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: (1d6 + Strength modifier) necrotic damage.
Frightening Blow
At 10th level, you gain the ability to channel the Hunger into your strikes. On the first attack on your turn you deal an extra 2d6 necrotic damage and creatures must make a Charisma saving throw of 16 or be frightened of you for 1 minute. If the creature succeeds on the saving throw they become immune to this effect for 24 hours. After each round the creature can attempt the saving throw and if they succeed or the duration of the effect ends they become immune to the effect for 24 hours.
Frightening Blow
The extra damage you deal with Frightening Blow is necrotic.
Erupting Force
At 14th level, your hunger erupts from you and whenever you go into a rage you become immune to necrotic damage and the frightened condition.
