Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Deft and daring, Blade Dancers dart around the battle at high speed, knocking enemies off balance and drawing attention with their agility. They channel the fighting spirit of their nation, using elements of traditional dance to focus their will into graceful and deadly blades. Originally from an eastern island, the first Blade Dancer was a young woman who was barely more than a girl, stepping up first to defend her village, and then to rallying her nation to fight back an invading empire.

Since then the legacy of Blade Dancers has spread, to mountain regions and towards freezing steppes, lush jungles and sweeping plains- each has had their own unique style, and a resolute fighting spirit. Whether you grew up with the dances of your forms, or you made a recent connection between their movements and your bladework, your fervor for your homeland has become something tangible you and others to rely on.

Blades of Defiance

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you can manifest your fighting spirit and fervor for your homeland as mystic blades. You gain proficiency number of blades, which you can call out as a bonus action or when you roll initiative. They hover in the air near you, and can be directed and used to attack if you have your hands free. On a hit they deal 1d4(1d6 at level 5, 1d8 at level 11, 1d10 at  level 17) Slashing damage. They can be dual wielded, and have the Finesse and Light properties.

Sharpened Will

Beginning at 3rd level, your fighting spirit and intuition enhance your agility, giving your unarmored AC a bonus equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Blade Surge

Starting at 7th level, you can surge forwards with your Blades of Defiance and make a melee weapon attack as a bonus action against a creature within 15 feet of you that you can see, dashing to 5 feet from them and ignoring difficult terrain in between. This doesn't use your movement speed, though other creatures treat it as if you took the Dash action. If the attack hits, you gain WIS mod. temp. HP for one round. You can use this attack proficiency times before a short rest.

Defiant Dance

At 10th level, your connection to the fighting spirit of your people and extensive training as a Blade Dancer gives you advantage on saves against being Charmed and Frightened, and +10 speed.

Flawless Duet

Starting at 15th level, you can increase the resonance between your Blades of Defiance, the harmony disorienting foes caught in the crossfire. As an action you can send out two of your Blades of Defiance up to 30 feet away and apart from each other, which form a line between them: creatures in the line must make a DEX save, and on a failure they are Incapacitated for one round and Offbalanced for one minute; creatures are Offbalanced for one minute or until you attack them. Once during your turn, as no action you can use Blade Surge against an Offbalanced creature without expending a use. You can use this feature up to proficiency times before a long rest.

Vanguard's Edge

At 18th level, your mastery of your footwork has been perfected, and you can use all your intuition and skill to weave around the battle and attack with impunity. As a bonus action, for 1 minute when an enemy within 30 feet of you attacks a creature other than you, it becomes Offbalanced; you can use Blade Surge with no action during your turn against creatures you've Offbalanced with this feature. Offbalanced lasts on a creature for the duration or until you attack it. In addition, Blade Surge and your attacks with your Blades of Defiance deal WIS mod. extra damage once a round for the duration. You must take a long rest before you can use this action again.
