Base Class: Rogue
Instead of enjoying mainstream hobbies and indulging yourself in popular culture, you find yourself naturally attracted to oriental culture and traditions. Most regard the eastern ways as exotic and/or inferior, and many who abandoned the western ways had become social outcasts.
Afraid to be exiled or to have their reputation hindered, the so called weebs formed their own underground society and dubbed themselves as “the Sheathed Souls.” They are commonly known as Closet Weebs since most of them only show their passion for oriental culture around other weebs or in the heat of battle. Though people laugh at them for their behaviors, many employ the Closet Weebs as assassins or bodyguards because of their deadly, exotic martial arts.
Man/Woman of Culture
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you have already indulged yourself in oriental traditions and have followed their rules religiously. On top of that, you have learned how to conceal your identity as one who adores eastern culture.
You gain proficiency in History, Deception, and with calligrapher’s supplies if you don’t already have them.
Sheathing-Kata
At 3rd level you have already learned the basics to the mysterious orient martial arts regarding the blade and sheath.
When you land a Sneak Attack with a melee weapon, you may mark the foe hit by your attack, storing your Sneak Attack dice instead of rolling them for damage. As a bonus action you may sheath your weapon(s) and then roll all of the dies stored on the marked foe for damage, for every 1 rolled on your Sneak Attack dies you may roll a d4 and use that result instead.
You may use this feature to store dies on the marked foe for multiple turns. The stored dies disappear when another foe is marked using this feature, combat ends, or when they are used for damage. You may unmark a foe anytime.
When you sheath your weapon to deal damage using this feature, you must announce the name of the technique used right before or after the blade is sheathed unless you are incapable of speaking at the moment. The name can be made up on the fly or something actually taught to you in the past. Examples: “Japanese Sunrise Style,” “Thunder Clap and Flash,” or “Southern Tristar Cut.”
If the foe you marked had mocked or criticized you because of your natural behavior as a weeb during or before combat started, you may choose one of the following effects when you sheath your weapon for damage:
- The next attack on the target foe will have advantage until the start of your next turn.
- The foe’s movement is reduced by 10ft until the start of your next turn.
- The foe cannot receive healing until the start of your next turn.
Ambush-Jutsu
At 9th level, you learn the basics to stealth and to strike from afar like a true oriental assassin. You gain the following features:
- Stealth-Jutsu. You gain advantage on stealth if there are no other creatures within 15 feet of you, 5 feet if you are under dim light.
- Throw-Kata. You may use your Dexterity modifier on attack and damage rolls for throwing weapons 3lbs and under.
- Sheath-Range Combination. You may use throwing weapons and ranged weapons to Sneak Attack, mark and store Sneak Attack dies on enemies. However, you must hit and use Sheathing-Kata with a melee weapon in order to spend the Sneak Attack dies stored. You may only mark and store dies on one foe at a time much like Sheathing-Kata.
Chuunibyou Mobility
At 13th level you feel the urge to dash, climb and wall jump like fictional characters depicted in eastern media, but only around people you are comfortable with or when absolutely necessary.
Your walking speed is increased by 15ft and you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed if you don’t already have one that is faster. You may scale surfaces that are equal to or less than half your climbing speed rounded down.
Increases and features granted here only apply when there are no strangers around (friends, family, or even rivals are not strangers), or when serious lives are at stake.
Full Sensei Mode
At 17 level people close to you and other weebs begin to call you sensei because of your masterful ways. When one would refuse to call you sensei, your friends and fellow weebs would feel obligated to correct his/her impoliteness. You gain the following abilities, both of which you can only use once per short or long rest:
- Artistic Spin Sheath. When using Sheath-Kata, instead of rerolling Sneak Attack dies, you may treat all dies under 3s as 4s. You may also distribute the dies anyway you want between your target and creatures within 5ft of the target when you sheath your weapon for damage.
- Ranged Assassination-Jutsu. When you hit an enemy with a throwing or ranged weapon using Sheath-Range Combination while stealthing, you may hit again with a throwing weapon and with advantage that turn without spending another action or bonus action.
