Druid
Base Class: Druid

In the far North of Faunia, within the borders of Barbearia, life is as scarce as kindness. However, the druids there recognize, despite the barrenness, that the cold and snow is as much a part of nature as the verdant life far to the south. Druids of the Circle of Winter revere and embrace the cold as a destructive defense against their powerful martial bear brethren.

Blizzard's Embrace

At 2nd level when you take this subclass, your tolerance to brutal cold is already impressive. You gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to cold damage.
  • Temperatures warmer than -30 degrees do not effect you.
  • Rough terrain made of snow or ice does not reduce your movement speed.

Circle Spells

As you gain levels in druid, you gain access to the force of cold, empowering your magic. You gain access to extra spells when you reach certain levels in this class. Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Druid Level                        Circle Spells

3rd                                      Dragon's Breath (Must Use Cold Damage), Snilloc's Snowball Swarm

5th                                      Leomund's Tiny Hut, Sleet Storm

7th                                      Ice Storm, Storm Sphere

9th                                      Cold of Cold, Antilife Shell (creatures killed by your use of this spell are flash-frozen)

Bonechiller

At 6th level, your freezing magic becomes incredibly potent. When you cast a spell that deals cold damage, you treat resistant monsters as if they have no resistance and immune monsters as if they only have resistance. Additionally, when you deal cold damage to a creature, their speed is reduced by 10 feet until the end of its turn and it takes a -2 to the next Constitution save they make.

Home in the Snow

At 10th Level, your comfort in the cold progresses to nearly concerning levels. When you take cold damage, you can use your reaction to expend a hit dice and gain the amount of damage you would've received as temporary hit points. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier, regaining all uses on a long rest.

Cold of Thick Fat Peak

At 14th level, you channel the absolute freeze of the highest, coldest point in Faunia: Thick Fat Peak. You gain the following benefits:

  • You gain immunity to cold damage. Your Home in the Cold feature grants you temporary hit points equal to the damage rolled instead of the damage you would take.
  • When you cast a spell that deals cold damage, you can cast it at a higher level spell slot and, instead of the normal upcasting effects, you can take maximum cold damage instead of rolling. You can use this feature once, regaining it on a long rest.
  • While you are grappling a creature, they take cold damage equal to your wisdom modifier at the end of each of your turns.
