Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins of the Oath of Latitude hold freedom as their ideal. They are saviours of those under tyranny and show compassion for the weak and those in chains, but their captors receive no mercy. These paladins seek to attain and ensure freedom in both physical and idealistic ways. They seek travel and adventure all around the world and anything holding them back from that life could be renounced in the name of freedom.

Tenets of Latitude

Paladins of Latitude take their oath to emancipate those who are bound by tyrants and spend their life unbound to authority. They seek to live as freely as they can, embracing the unpredictable nature of life and the changes it brings. To make sure that people don't use their power to impede other people's freedom, they steer the change towards freedom of all and punish those who try to control and rule with an iron fist.

No Greater Life than a Life Lived Free. One should be free to chart their own path without oppression. Those who would exert their power to dominate others shall be smote.

Explore the Uncharted. The world is filled with much mystery. Through the pursuit of these enigmatic ends, one can both uncover those who hide their dark deeds in shadow to be judged, and find the path to becoming something great.

Seek Out Tomorrow. None can ever know if a tree has bore its sweetest fruit. Look forward to the parts of your life that have yet to come, for they might be the sweetest.

Embrace the Journey. A life spent in pursuit is sure to end in dissatisfaction. Seek not the end of the pursuit, but the thrill that comes during it.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Boundless Will. You can use your Channel Divinity to exert divine will to overcome obstacles in your way. As an action you bolster a willing creature you can see within 30 ft. with divine willpower and suppress one condition or magical effect afflicting the target for 1 minute. While a condition or effect is suppressed, it doesn't function, but the time it spends suppressed counts against its duration.

Extricate the Bound. You can use your Channel Divinity to mutter words of freedom. As an action you target all non-magical locks of your choice that you can see within 60 ft. such as a padlock on a trapdoor, or manacles on a creature's hands and feet, and cause them to be unlocked. Additionally, when you use this feature, a number of creatures you choose within 20 ft. of you up to your charisma modifier (minimum 1) can immediately use their reaction to move up to half their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Aura of Liberation

Starting at 7th level, you emanate an aura while you’re not incapacitated. You and any creature of your choice within 10 feet of you cannot have your speed reduced through magical means and cannot be unwillingly grappled or restrained. Creatures that are already grappled or restrained when they enter the aura can spend 5 feet of movement to automatically escape nonmagical restraints.

When you reach 18th level in this class, the range of the aura increases to 30 feet.

Unfettered Movement

Starting at 15th level, you can use your bonus action to teleport up to 15ft or swap the positions of two targets (including you) within your Aura of Liberation.

Liberty Incarnate

At 20th level, you learn to draw on the will of spirits that died fighting for their freedom across the plains, turning you into a paragon of liberty. As an action, you let this will flow through you, gaining the following benefits for 1 hour:

  • You gain flying, burrowing, and swimming speed equal to your walking speed and can hover.
  • You can pass through solid objects and creatures.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
