Base Class: Artificer
Professors are generally seekers of knowledge. More than that though, they are sharers of knowledge. Many Professors can be found in colleges and schools, teaching students, while others travel the world collecting and collating any and all knowledge they can find. While seeking knowledge is something that generally unites Professors, that is often where the similarities end. Some Professors travel the world, delving into old ruins, avoiding perilous traps and generally filling the description of what many would call an adventurer, while others spend their time in libraries, studying and learning in the safety of dens of knowledge, others still seek out other worldly powers and make bargains for knowledge. Truly, Professors are as varied as the subjects they teach.
Tool Proficiency
3rd-level Professor feature
You gain proficiency with one tool, one skill, and one language of your choice.
Professor Spells
3rd-level Professor feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Professor Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Sharing Knowledge
3rd-level Professor feature
Your allies have taken your teaching to heart, though they may need some slight prompting. Over the course of a short or long rest, you can spend some time teaching your allies some of the tips and tricks you've picked up over time. At the end of the short or long rest, you can grant a number of creatures up to your Proficiency bonus, that were within 30 feet of you for the duration of the rest, proficiency with one skill or tool with which you already have proficiency.
The proficiency granted by this ability lasts until you use this feature again.
Quick Cram
3rd-level Professor feature
Your experience with studying allows you to quickly research topics and effectively implement them. When you finish a long rest, you can choose 1 skills or tools. You gain proficiency with those skills or tools if you are not already. This proficiency lasts until the end of your next long rest.
Starting at 8th level, you can choose up to 2 skills or tools, at 13th level, you can choose up to 3 skills or tools, and at 18th level, you can choose up to 4 skills or tools.
Common Knowledge
5th-level Professor feature
Your desire to share and gain knowledge has allowed you to tap into the minds of other creatures. As an action, you can choose a number of creatures you can see up to your proficiency bonus. You and those creatures can communicate telepathically for the duration. This effect lasts a number of hours equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1). To send or receive a message (no action required), you and the other creature must be within 1 mile of each other and on the same plane. A creature can’t use this telepathy if it can’t speak any languages, and a creature can end the telepathic connection at any time (no action required). You and the creature don’t need to speak a common language to understand each other.
You can use this feature once, regaining the ability to do so at the end of a long rest.
Dabbler
9th-level Professor feature
You have begun dabbling in other subjects, though you're not quite as proficient with them, you are still remarkably talented. You can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check and attack roll you make that doesn’t already include your proficiency bonus.
Read About That
9th-level Professor feature
Through your extensive studies, you have read on many different topics, and knowledge is power. When you make a skill check or tool check using an ability score other than Intelligence, you can use your Intelligence in place of the other ability score.
You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining expended uses at the end of a long rest.
Peerless Thesis
15th-level Professor feature
You have become the epitome of the saying "brain over brawn". You gain proficiency with all weapons and armour. You can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any saving throw you make that doesn’t already include your proficiency bonus.
Additionally, at the end of a long rest, you can choose two of your skill proficiencies. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of the chosen proficiencies. This benefit lasts untill you use this feature again.
Changelog
2.0 - Changed Sharing Knowledge to grant long term proficiency to allies after a rest instead of as a reaction. The original ability was found to step on the toes of Flash of Genius, being a slightly more powerful version of the same effect. This change was made to grant a more appropriate benefit that also suits the flavour of the class somewhat better.
Reduced Quick Cram's number of proficiencies. The ability was found to be a little bit overcharged and not quite fitting the niche it was intended for, the idea being emphasis on the ability to quickly change proficiencies rather than having lots of proficiencies.
Limited Common Knowledge to once per long rest. The additional uses were found to be redundant, especially considering its usual long duration.
Minor adjustments to Dabbler to reflect changes to Sharing Knowledge.
Removed reaction from Peerless Thesis and added weapon and armor proficiencies. The reaction was a worse version of Flash of Genius, which most of these changes will show that I had completely forgotten existed, so the weapon and armor proficiencies were added to help fit the niche of a many proficiency-type subclass. Ultimately, the additional weapon and armor proficiencies are intended to be low impact, and I understand many players will likely not even make use of it, but it's primarily to fit further into the niche.
Added Read About That. This was added as a way to more highly benefit an Intelligence build, apart from the obvious spellcasting, since majority of this subclass' features revolve around proficiency.
