Shieldmaster

Shieldmasters are the ultimate defending units. Wielding huge shields on both hands, they can resist even the most ferocious onslaughts.

Way of the Shield

As a shieldmaster, you have learned the way of the shield. At level 3, you've learned to cover attacks from all angles, and your charge attacks are something to be rockoned with. You gain proficiency at wielding dual shields, adding the sum of their bonus CA to your current one. You gain access to the spell Stand Behind Me! You're practically impossible to hit, but you only possess 2 means of attack: charging or simply hitting with your shield. The damage you deal with that hit is determined by 1d4, and goes up with level.

• Level 3 - 1d4
• Level 7 - 3d4
• Level 14 - 6d4
• Level 20 - 10d4

Quick Barricade

At level 7, you've learned to nail your big shields in front of you and your allies. As long as they are behind the makeshift barricade, they gain a permanent bonus to their armor class, that scales with level:

• Level 7 - +2 AC
• Level 11 - +3 AC
• Level 16 - +4 AC
• Level 20 - +5 AC

Reject

At level 10, you've gained enough strength and experience with your shields to reject attacks that would otherwise hit, and to deal damage as a counter attack.. You're not affected by attacking throws that equal your AC. If your AC is superior by at least 2 points, you can inflict 1d6 of damage to your opponent as a reaction.

Unassailable

At level 15, you can spend an action and adopt the unassailable stance. Covered by your shields, you have advantage on all saving throws. Plus,  if you succed on a saving throw in which you would take half damage, you take no damage at all.

Mirror, Mirror

At level 18, you have learned to send damaging spell back to the ones who casted them against you. If the enemy hits you with the same number as your armor class with a spell and you succeed on a strength saving throw, you can reflect it and send it back tot them using your strength as spell casting ability.
