Base Class: Artificer
Those inventors whose desire is to take to the skies, those mad, ground-sick creatures, are the very same who will one day pollute the air with their rockets and flight. However, for now, those who leap up from the dirt below are the only ones to experience the joy of the wind.
Weapon Proficiency
3rd-level Aviator feature
You gain proficiency with blowguns, hand crossbows, heavy crossbows, longbows, and nets.
Aviator Spells
3rd-level Aviator feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Aviator Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Flying Apparatus
3rd-level Aviator feature
Your pursuit of the skies has led you to making a device capable of flight. Whether it be a set of mechanical wings or a pack that hoists you from the ground, this device is built and solely usable by you. As a Bonus Action on your turn, you can activate the apparatus to gain a flying speed equal to your Intelligence modifier times 15 (minimum of 15 feet) for one minute. You can activate the apparatus a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus each Long Rest.
In addition, you gain the following benefits while wearing the apparatus (but not necessarily using it):
- When falling, you can use your apparatus in a limited fashion to glide, ignoring up to 40 feet falling damage.
- When you make a standing or long jump, you can use the apparatus to add 10 feet to the jump's distance.
Extra Attack
5th-level Aviator feature
You can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Speed of Sound
9th-level Aviator feature
Starting at 9th level, you gain the ability to push your flying apparatus to the farthest it will go. As a Bonus Action on your turn, you can take the Dash action while in flight. If you take the Dash action and move in this way, opportunity attacks made against you automatically miss.
Midair Evasion
15th-level Aviator feature
Your expertise in flight has granted you the roguish ability to fly straight out of incoming danger. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
