Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

The confidence artist aims to defraud or deceive others by persuading them to believe something that is not true. They can weave great falsehoods into creation, with the ability to con even the most intelligent or quick-witted of individuals. Many confidence artists are performers for the carnival or circus as this is a great way to meet many naïve faces.

Practiced Trickster

When you choose this subclass, as a confidence trickster, your ability to charm and deceive those around you takes on a magical form. You know the minor illusion cantrip, and all creatures have disadvantage on their investigation checks made to determine that it is an illusion.

Additionally, you know the suggestion spell which you can cast once per long rest without consuming a spell slot. From 11th level, you can cast the major image spell once per long rest as a 6th level spell without consuming a spell slot or requiring spell components.

Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells, since they hinge on your ability to lie and deceive. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for these spells.

Misdirection

From 3rd level, you can use your skills to distract an enemy momentarily, leaving them open to an attack. As a bonus action, you choose a creature within 30ft to confuse through a combination of sleight of hand and crafty wordsmanship. As part of this, you make a deception check contested by the target's insight check. On a success, you and your allies gain advantage on all attack rolls against the creature until the start of your next turn. You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and regain all uses on a long rest.

Master Deceiver

Beginning at 9th level, you become incredibly adept at weaving lies and understanding when you are being lied to. When you make a deception or insight check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Psychological Evaluation

From 13th level, your years of conning people has lead you to be able to understand and evaluate everyone you meet so as to more successfully exploit them. As an action, you can size up a creature within 30ft, and in doing so, you learn all of their damage resistances and immunities, their condition immunities, and all of their saving throw modifiers. In addition, you now have advantage on all Charisma checks you make when interacting with this creature for the next hour. You can only use this action once per long rest.

Opportunist

From 17th level, you have learnt to attack your enemies when they are at their most vulnerable. When a friendly creature attacks an enemy, you can use your reaction to make an attack against that enemy.
