Bard
Base Class: Bard

The bards of the College of the Con are the bards of the alleyway and the street corners. These bards aren't trained in organized apprenticeships or at universities, these bards pick up a little here, a little there, and stay close to the people who are in the know. These bards are masterfully stealthy when they need to be and absolutely suave at all times. They work best when surrounded by the thronging masses, but take one to the country and they may end up either running the village or running off with the village's money.

Here comes the College of the Con. Keep a tight hold on your coin pouches.

Skills of a Con Man

After joining the College of the Con, a bard becomes proficient in three of the following skills: Stealth, Sleight of Hand, Perception, Insight, Persuasion, Intimidation, and Deception.

Collector of Secrets

The bards of the College of the Con are masters of collecting and using secrets. Whenever a bard of this college is engaged in combat, they may make an Insight check against an enemy at disadvantage. If successful, the bard's next attack against that enemy has advantage.

Furthermore, bards of this college have advantage on all Perception rolls during combat and a +2 modifier on Perception rolls out of combat.

Starting at level 14, these bards roll in-combat Insight checks without disadvantage.

Cunning Action

Your bard is becoming a master of the "artful escape". Starting at 6th level, your quick thinking and agility allow you to move and act quickly. You can take a bonus action on each of your turns in combat. This action can be used only to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.

Quickfire

Sometimes, a speedy response makes the difference between life and death. As a master of improvisation and survival when things get messy, you've learned how to use a little extra magic to get yourself out of sticky situations. At level 14, you gain the ability to cast cantrips as a bonus action during combat. You also have mastered a few spells. Choose two of your level one spells. You can cast these without expending a spell slot, as long as you have them prepared. Casting these spells at a higher level costs spell slots as normal.
