Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Sword mastered the use of the sword and sought to find a way around its limitation. By the use of their bound swords, they can show their mastery with a sword both in close and ranged combat.
Sword Mastery
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your special martial arts training gives you proficiency in longswords and you can use them as your monk weapons.
Bound Swords
You can spend 1 hour to bound your proficiency bonus + 1 ({{1+proficiency}}) swords to you. Those swords take up one of your attunement slots. After being bound you can reduce their size and weight to carry them like an accessory (i.e. earings, pin), you can bring them back to their original size at your will. You can only hold one of the swords in your hands, the rest will levitate behind you. You can use a free action to change your currently wielded sword to one of the other bound swords. If any of the swords requires attunement they are considered attuned when you wield them.
As a part of the attack action, you can use your bound swords that you are not holding as a ranged weapon (30/90), using their weapon die for damage. You can also use them in place of your unarmed strikes and as a part of Flurry of Blows, but using your martial arts die for damage. You can't use the same sword more than once per your turn, all swords used in this way come back to you at the end of your turn.
Sword Intent
At 6th level your sword intent seeps into your bound swords allowing them to count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Parry & Counter
Also at 6th level, you are able to use your Deflect Missiles feature to parry melee attacks and make a counterattack if the damage is reduced to 0.
Sword Flight
At 11th level, as an action, you can stand on one of your bound swords and gain flight speed equal to your movement speed. If you are hit while on a sword you have to make an Acrobatics check DC equal to half the damage received (minimum 10).
You can carry other medium or small sized creatures on your bound swords but they have to make DC 15 Acrobatics check to stand on it or DC 10 Athletics check to hold on to it. You are controlling their movement and the swords can't leave further than 90ft away from you.
Sword Intent Overcharg
At 17th level, once per long rest you can spend 3 ki points and use one of your bound swords to invoke one of the following effects:
- As a bonus action, you can charge the bound sword you are currently holding with a huge amount of sword intent, next time you hit with it, the attack becomes a critical hit and you do an extra 5d10 of your weapon damage. After that, roll a d6, on 1-2 your sword breaks.
- As an action, you can charge one of the bound swords that you are not holding with a huge amount of sword intent, choose a point you can see in 90ft radius, your sword flyes there and explodes with your sword intent, all creatures in 20ft sphere area have to make Dexterity saving throw DC {{savedc:wis}}, on a fail they take 8d10 slashing damage, on a save they take half damage. After that, roll a d6, on 1-3 the sword breaks.
