Base Class: Monk

Monk who follow the Way of the Sea channel their ki through an intimate connection to the nature of water. Their emotions and actions are as graceful and unpredictable as the sea itself. They can turn from tranquil to deadly in the blink of an eye. They ride the flow of life, crashing down any obstacle in their path.

Disciple of the Waves

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your deep connection with the ocean allows you to manipulate the water around you. You learn the shape water cantrip. You also gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed. In addition you gain proficiency with a whip and trident, and they count as martial weapons. 

Friend of the Sea

Starting at 3rd level, you learn how to speak, read, and write Aquan, as well as cast the speak with animals spell, but only as a ritual, and it only effects creatures with an innate swimming speed. You also gain advantage on Wisdom (Animal Handling) and Charisma checks made to interact with creatures with an innate swimming speed.

Aquatic Constitution

When you reach the 6th level, your Constitution Score increases by 1 to a max of 20. In addition you are able to hold your breath twice as long as normal, and as a bonus action you can expend a ki point to increase the time by 1 minute. You can do this a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier until you complete a long rest.

Fists of the Tempest

When you reach level 6, your fists are imbued with the intense power of the sea. When you make an unarmed strike attack you deal an extra 1d4 force damage on a hit.

     Level scaling. When you reach level 11 the damage increases to 1d6, at level 15 it increases to 1d8, at level 17 it increases to 1d10, and at level 20 it increases to 1d12.

Aquatic Defense

Once you reach the 11th level, you can spend 3 ki points to use your reaction to cover your body with a layer of water. This raises your AC by 2, and it make you immune to Fire damage. This effect lasts until the end of your next turn.

Master of the Sea

By 17th level, you've mastered the ability to channel your ki into the manipulation and control of water. You gain the ability to breathe underwater, and you can cast water breathing as a ritual for other creatures. You can also expend 3 ki points to cast wall of water, and you can expend 4 ki points to cast control water.
