Base Class: Monk
Monks of this order usually live in seclusion, seeking understanding and meaning through observation of nature. Their attunement with their natural surroundings is so great that they can absorb its attributes into themselves, and often dwell within and protect the same forest for years upon years.
Their intense observation and love for woodland plants in particular has enabled these monks to assimilate the strengths of these flora into themselves, making them almost unstoppable when in their home territory.
A Hermit's Way
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your study and admiration of nature makes you knowledgeable about your environment. You gain proficiency in Survival and Nature, and proficiency in using Herbalism Kits.
You can also exercise limited control over plant growth. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to accelerate the growth of a seed or plant you can see to its full-grown state in a direction of your choice.
Cultivated Form
At 3rd level, you become ingrained to nature in both body and spirit, gaining the ability to take on aspects of nature around you in various ways called Forms.
As an action, you can spend 1 ki point and touch a living plant to assume a Form that reflects one of the plants properties. The form lasts for 10 minutes, and ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again. You can only assume one plant's Form at a time.
Boundless Vitality
When you touch any edible plant, bushes with succulent-looking berries sprout from your shoulders.
You gain a number of berries equal to your Monk level. As a bonus action, you can eat a berry or feed it to a friendly creature within 5 ft. of you. A creature that eats a berry heals a number of hit points equal to half of a roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier. Once all your berries are eaten, this form ends, in addition to its normal duration.
Deadly Allure
When you touch any plant with toxic or magical properties, your body becomes enveloped in blooming, vibrant flowers and your ki becomes receptive to new, volatile energies.
While in this Form, you can spend 1 ki point to cast the Absorb Elements spell, raising the spell's level by 1 per extra ki point you care to spend in addition.
Thorny Visage
When you touch a plant with thorns or spines, your arms and fists become coated in thick, sharp spikes.
While in this Form, once on each of your turns when you successfully grapple or hit a target with an unarmed strike, you can deal extra damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die.
Wooden Defense
When you touch either living or non-living wood, your skin begins to take on a bark-like appearance, and the flesh underneath hardens like wood.
When you assume this Form, your AC increases by 1, and you gain temporary hit points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die + your Proficiency Bonus + your Wisdom Modifier. These hit points last for this Form's duration.
Ascending Attunement
At 6th level, your soul progresses further into the embrace of nature, and your prowess in assuming your Forms increases. You gain the following benefits.
- Switching or assuming a Form as an Action no longer requires you to spend a ki point.
- Whenever you are in any Form, and you take the Hide action, you gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks whenever you are near or surrounded by plants associated with your Form.
One With Nature
At 11th level, the spirits of the forest take root upon your soul, never truly separating yourself from nature.
Switching or Assuming your Forms no longer requires you to be within direct contact with the plant associated with it, or spending ki. Additionally, each Form becomes more powerful.
Boundless Vitality
You can now throw your berries at a creature you can see within 60 ft., healing the target upon contact.
Deadly Allure
Once per long rest, you can spend 7 ki points to cast the Sunbeam spell, but only if you have spent at least 8 hours in direct sunlight before your most recent long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
Thorny Visage
The extra damage from this Form is now applied to any melee attack you make, not just unarmed strikes, and is considered magical. When you use your Flurry of Blows or Stunning Strike, you can apply the damage granted to you with this Form an additional time.
Wooden Defense
Your AC increases by 2 instead of 1, and the temporary hit points you gain are calculated with an additional roll of your Martial Arts die.
The One Who Speaks With The Trees
At 17th level, your soul is now one with the flora around you, allowing you to evoke the full power of the woodlands.
Once per turn, you can switch or assume a new Form, no action required.
As a bonus action, you can spend 5 ki points to assume all four Forms at once for 10 minutes. When this effect ends, any form you would have dissipates until you assume another form. Once you use this bonus action, you cannot use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
Additionally, while within any woodland area, you gain the following benefits:
- You gain Blindsight out to 60 ft.
- You gain the benefits of a Long Rest when you take a Short Rest.
- Moving through Difficult Terrain does not cost extra movement from you.
