Base Class: Monk

As a practitioner of this Monastic Tradition, you have learned to transform the ki inside your body into something you consider far deadlier - lightning. Way of the Electric Veined monks are a tempest, fast and decisive on the battlefield, ruthless with the damage they inflict against foes. 

Internal Storm

The ki that flows through your body has become electric, you gain the following enhancements to your Martial Arts: 

  • Electric Dash: When you use your Step of the Wind to dash you are capable of moving through opponent’s spaces dealing Lightning Damage equivalent to your Martial Arts dice to each opponent your move through. You can only deal damage to each opponent in this way once per turn. 
  • Lightning Reflexes: While you’re using Patient Defense, if an enemy within 5ft. of you makes a melee track against you, you may use your reaction to make one Unarmed Strike against them.
  • Rain of Lightning: When you successfully make an attack with Flurry of Blows, you can choose for your unarmed strikes to deal Lightning Damage or Thunder Damage instead of Bludgeoning Damage.

Flash of Lightning

You additionally gain a certain awareness of the area around you, allowing you to react exceptionally quickly. You may double your Dexterity modifier when calculating your initiative bonus. Any items or feats that Increase your Initiative do not gain this effect. 

Additionally, while you are conscious, you cannot be surprised 

Thunder Pulse

You have become attuned to thunder and lightning. When you use your Stunning Strike, you may expend an additional ki point to give your opponent disadvantage on their saving throw.

As a part of this attack, you release 15ft. pulse of thunder originating on yourself. Any opponent within range must make a Constitution save. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 thunder damage and is pushed 10ft away from you. On a successful save the opponent takes half damage and isn’t pushed. The creature effected by Stunning Strike does not take this damage 

Lightning Strike

As an action, you can expend 3 ki points to cast Lightning Bolt without providing material components. You may spend additional damage die to increase the damage to a maximum of 10d6 (5 ki points)

Fulmination

Your body is a battery and a conduit for Lightning. You feel it rushing through your veins at any given moment. You are capable of unleashing the full potential of your strength as a bonus action by expending 5 ki points and undergoing a transformation as your body becomes shrouded with electricity 

  • You gain the benefits of your Step of the Wind and Electric Dash for the duration
  • You gain an additional attack 
  • You gain a flight speed equal to your movement speed
  • If an opponent begins their turn within 5ft. of you they take Lightning Damage equal to half your monk level rounded down

This transformation lasts for 1 minute. After it is complete, you gain one point of exhaustion. You regain this ability after a long rest.
