Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Shamanic Warriors are the spiritual leaders of their tribes and clans. They are masters of the primal fury, unleashing the fury of nature upon their foes with spell or axe.

Shamanic Warriors are spiritual guides and practitioners, not of the divine, but of the very primal forces of nature. Unlike some other mystics, shaman commune with forces that are not strictly benevolent.  It is the call of the shamanic warrior to bring balance to this chaos to focus their rage and in return the tap into the primal magics of the tribal spirits.

Experienced Shamanic Warriors can even concentrate on powerful magics while in harnessing the power of their rage or use they rage to fuel their magic.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your primal prowess with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the druid spell list. In addition, you can cast spells while raging, but you cannot concentrate on spells while in a rage.

Drawing on the primal essence of the spirit realm itself, you can cast spells to shape that essence to your will.

Cantrips

You learn two cantrips of your choice from the druid spell list. You learn an additional druid cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Shaman Warrior Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your druid spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell goodberry and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast goodberry using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher

You know three 1st-level druid spells of your choice.

The Spells Known column of the Shaman Warrior Spellcasting table shows when you learn more druid spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

The spells you learn at 6th, 14th, and 20th level can come from any school of magic.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the druid spells you know with another spell of your choice from the druid spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.

Casting the spell doesn’t remove it from your list of prepared spells.

You can also change your list of prepared spells when you finish a long rest. Preparing a new list of druid spells requires time spent in prayer and meditation: at least 1 minute per spell level for each spell on your list.

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your druid spells, since your magic draws upon your devotion and attunement to nature. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a druid spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Shamanic Tradition

The Shamanic Warrior has a deep understanding of how the spirit realm and natural world entwines. When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Nature and Religion skills if you don’t already have it.

In addition, you gain the Ritual Caster feat (druid)

Primal Recovery

You have learned to regain some of your magical energy by focusing some of your rage. As a bonus action, expend the use of 1 Rage to recover expended spell slots. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to your proficiency bonus, and none of the slots can be 4th level.

For example, if you’re a 6th-level barbarian, you can recover up to three levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either three 1st-level spells or a 2nd-level spell slot plus a 1st-level spell slot.

Rage Caster

You can cast spells granted by your spellcasting feature while raging, but still cannot maintain concentration.

Consult the Tribal Spirits

At 10th level, you gain the ability to consult with your tribal totem spirit. When you do so, you cast the augury or clairvoyance spell, without using a spell slot or material components. Rather than creating a spherical sensor, this use of clairvoyance invisibly summons one of your tribal totem spirit to the chosen location. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

After you cast either spell in this way, you can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.

One with Nature's Fury

When you're in a rage, you are still able to focus your fury and concentrate on a spell that you have cast. In addition, you have advantage on ability checks while you're in a rage to maintain concentration on a spell you have cast.
