Base Class: Monk
In the southern Jungles of Faerun grows the Banana. Northerners often underestimate the properties of this mysterious fruit, for they do not hear of the strange folk who hide in the trees and rain a squishy death upon their foes. The banana may seem innocuous but in the hands of a real master - it is nigh unstoppable. The order of their Banana pride themselves in their fruity prowess. Long since abandoning traditional weapons - even the unarmed strike is considered brutish and backward amongst them. The banana is the weapon of civilized folk and woe upon the members of the order who fight without it.
Fruity Fun
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, the monk can wield a banana as a weapon. It is a one handed weapon and is counted as a monk weapon and their monk is proficient with it. Furthermore the banana has the following properties when wielded by the monk:
- Unexpected Weapon: This item is not often recognized as a weapon and thus is often underestimated or not recognized as such by other characters unless they have special knowledge.
-Humiliating Defeat: If a character was knocked unconscious by this weapon they must make a charisma save when they next encounter a Way of the Banana monk or loose 1 ac when fighting them. This effect stacks.
Banana Bonza
At 6th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself. As a bonus action you may consume a banana and a ki point to regain health equal to your monk level and lose a level of fatigue. This provokes attacks of opportunity.
If a blood red banana is consumed in this way (see Banana Growth), the health gained is doubled.
Potassium Pound
Beginning at 11th level, you can consume a banana as a bonus action to buff your dexterity by two (this can take you above twenty) for one minute. This effect does not stack with itself. Consuming a Banana in this way provokes attacks of opportunity.
If a blood red Banana is consumed in this way (see Banana Growth), then the monks speed increases by 10 for one minute in addition to other effects. This effect does not stack with itself.
Banana Growth
At 17th level, when you kill a character with a banana, banana sprout from their body. The amount of bananas grown this way is equal to the number of character's hit die. When these bananas are consumed by anyone but the Way of the Banana monk they will take damage equal to the monks level. Furthermore these Bananas appear blood red in appearance and deal an additional 1d10 piercing damage when wielded as a weapon.
