Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with a mysterious being that does not like to show its true face. Your patron could be a lesser deity or maybe even a demon, but all it shows is a silhouette of a creature other than itself. Because of its secretive nature, your patron's requests may be chaotic or confusing but often are mainly to please the egos of those willing to hand out fractions of their power to mortal beings.

Expanded Spell List

1st-level Silhouette feature

The Silhouette lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Silhouette Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st disguise self, silent image
2nd darkvision, pass without trace
3rd blink, nondetection
4th freedom of movement, greater invisibility
5th creation, seeming

Encroaching Darkness

1st-level Silhouette feature

Your patron's power over the shadows allows you to obscure small areas. As an action, you pull from nearby shadows to create a 15-foot sphere of darkness at any point you can see within 30 feet of you. The sphere has the following effects:

  • All creatures within the affected area are blinded as if by the darkness spell.
  • All light sources within the area are reduced to 5 feet of dim light and all dim light is reduced to darkness.

You can cast this darkness a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Silhouetted Duplicate

6th-level Silhouette feature

Your patron grants you the power to create and command shadows where there are none. Once per short rest, you can summon a silhouette of yourself that lasts for 1 hour, or if you lose concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). The silhouette appears in an unoccupied space that you can see within 30 feet of you. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the silhouette up to 30 feet to a space you can see, but it must remain within 120 feet of you.

As an action, you can see and hear through your silhouette but are blind and deaf to your own senses. Additionally, when both you and your silhouette are within 5 feet of a creature that can see the silhouette, you have advantage on attack rolls against that creature.

Shadow Sense

10th-level Silhouette feature

Your time spent manipulating shadows allows you the sense of what lies within them. You now have blindsight for up to 10 feet around you.

In addition, you are now able to teleport to the location where your silhouette is. This takes an action and happens instantaneously. Afterward, the silhouette disappears.

Dusk's Creation

14th-level Silhouette feature

Your master over the shadows allows you to manifest them as magical constructs.

You can summon your Silhouette as a physical being, gaining the stats noted in the Silhouette stat block below. It becomes tangible and can interact with objects around it. Creatures can no longer pass through the Silhouette, but it can still pass through creatures.

Silhouette

Armor Class 15 (natural armor)

Hit Points 1

Speed 30 ft.

Condition Immunities charmed, frightened, grappled, prone, restrained

Actions

Shadow Strike. Ranged Weapon Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit, range 30 ft., one target you can see. Hit: 3d8 force damage.

Darkness Implosion. The silhouette ends its summoning by creating an implosion of darkness. Each creature within 10 ft. of the silhouette must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or take 7d10 force damage. After this is cast, the silhouette ceases to exist and is removed from combat.

In combat, the Silhouette shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. The only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the silhouette is as well.

The Silhouette manifests for 1 hour, until it is reduced to 0 hit points, you lose concentration, or until you die. Once you summon it this way, you cannot do so again for 1d4 long rests.
