Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Mad Samurai is a extremely swift variation of the normal barbarian. Members of this path can kill a foe 5 times before they hit the ground.

Swift Blade

Starting when you choose this class at 3rd level:

Whenever you land a melee weapon attack, you can spend your bonus action to perform an additional maneuver depending on the damage type.

  • Slashing damage: You perform a draw cut, dealing damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
  • Piercing damage: You twist your blade into your foe, dealing damage equal to half of your proficiency bonus (rounded up) and subtracting the same number from the next attack roll the affected creature makes.
  • Bludgeoning damage: You follow through your strike, pushing the target 1d4 x 5 feet away from you if they fail a contested strength check.

Additionally, your walking speed is increased by 10 when not wearing armor. You can still use shields and gain this benefit.

Quicker than the Eye

Starting at 6th level:

You can now choose to make an additional attack instead of gaining advantage when you use Reckless Attack

Additionally, while raging, you can teleport up to half of your walking speed to a position within 5 feet of an enemy as part of each attack.

Already Dead

Starting at 10th level:

When you enter a rage, you can instead decide to Go Mad. When you do this, your rage damage bonus is doubled for the duration of the rage. However, when you Go Mad, you deal no damage as you normally would. Instead, all damage you would have done in your rage is postponed. When your rage ends, all of the postponed damage is dealt at once.

Additionally, Your draw cuts and blade twists deal an extra +2 damage. Also, use a d6 when determining follow through push distance.

Quicker than Death

You are so swift that you appear to outrun death itself.

Starting at 14th level:

When you succeed a constitution saving throw prompted by Relentless Rage you can use your reaction to teleport up to half of your walking speed and make an attack.

Additionally, whenever you kill a creature of notable threat, subtract 1 from your Relentless Rage DC. To a minimum of 10.
